CCMC125 Deck the Halls

November 18, 2010 By Connie | 5 Comments

Time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  We are doing a sketch this week…cause we LOVE sketches!  Here is the sketch!

For my card, I decided to use some of my delicious Deck the Halls Designer Paper!  I love the large images on some of the pages!  This one I cut out a portion of the Poinsettia to be the focus of my card.

I started with a base of Cherry Cobbler.  Next I ran the Always Artichoke layer thru the Big Shot with what else…Petals A Plenty!  I seem to be using that Impressions folder a LOT!  I wrapped two 1/8 Early Espresso strands of Ribbon around and secured in the back.  I cut the Designer Paper and layered it on Very Vanilla.  In the center, I placed several of the tiny adhesive backed Pearls!  I added a strip of the Scallop Edge Border Punch from Cherry Cobbler cardstock and also added a Pearl to the center of each of the scallops.  I stamped the Dec. 25 from Stampin' Up!'s Tags Til Christmas in Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla, then punched it with the Decorative Label Punch.  It is popped up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals!  I think this made a very elegant card without a lot of fuss!

Make sure to check out what the rest of the Design Team did this week over on Create with Connie and Mary!  Then, make your own creation and upload it to InLinkz over there!  We'd love to see what you do with the sketch this week!

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 17 years and just had my 16 year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!

I love this card! I love how you showed off the beautiful Deck the Halls dsp and how you used the decorative label punch for the tag part of the sketch. Too clever!! And the pearls add the perfect touch of elegance!

This is lovely Connie. I just love how you've made the designer paper work to your advantage. And the pearls? Totally throw this one over the edge. Beautiful!
