CCMC213 – Wonderfall

August 9, 2012 By Connie | 7 Comments

It's Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary challenge!  I think I've mentioned before…I LOVE sketch challenges…to me, we could do ALL sketch challenges and I would be a happy camper!  But…that Mary…she has to throw in some Color Challenges once in a while.  I guess that is why they call them challenges!  But, this week again, we have a VERY fun sketch for you to try!

And, I just had to use some of the fun new items in the Holiday Mini Catalog!  It is just so FULL of great items and I'm so excited to play with them!  I was inspired by the slightly cooler weather we're experiencing…low 80s.  It has been such a HOT summer!  They actually said we may drop down into the 70s this week!

I used a base of More Mustard cardstock.  I layered on Cajun Craze that I ran through the Big Shot with the new Woodgrain Embossing Folder, then added the Early Espresso strip of cardstock along the left side.  I staggered the strips of Orchard Harvest Designer Paper AND placed a fun strip of the Champagne Glitter Paper along the bottom!  I stamped two of the leaves with More Mustard and Lucky Limeade on Very Vanilla and cut them out and placed with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Finally, I added the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes, stamped with Early Espresso on Very Vanilla and placed slightly under the leaves, and cut with a flag end.  I added a bow of the 1/4" Stitched Early Espresso Ribbon for a little extra touch.

I really like how this turned out.  That stripe DSP is one of my favorites, so you'll be seeing a lot of it!  Make sure to check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did this week over on Create with Connie and Mary!  Then grab your stamps and play along!

PSST….be looking for the next session of Create with Connie and Mary to be starting VERY SOON!!!  We'll be having our Early Bird Special again, too!

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 19 years and had my 18th year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!

Love the fall feel of your card! Those leaf stamps and woodgrain texture really work nicely together! And what a creative idea to add the glitter paper! I love it!!

Very nice Connie!  I just ordered that DSP this morning – seeing it on a card makes me like it so much more.

Fall leaves…gotta love 'em and I'm excited for our heat to go away and cooling to begin…and to start seeing a few Fall leaves here and there – not a big rush, but tired of hot – as are MANY others!

How could I not love this?  You've used my new favorite DSP and fall stamp set!  All that texture is wonderful!  And I the little strip of glitter paper just adds to this stunner!
