It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. It’s a pretty color challenge this week.
DETAILED DOGWOOD
Of course, the obvious choice would be to use the beautiful Painted Lavender Bundle with these colors in the gorgeous designer paper! But I wanted to think outside the box a little and go in a different direction with the Detailed Dogwood Stamp Set.
Stampin’ Details:
- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Highland Heather was embossed with the SAB Level 2 embossing folder Softly Sophisticated. The center medallion was cut out with the largest Thoughtful Expressions Dies. It was added to the base card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The dogwood image from Detailed Dogwood Stamp Set (SAB Level 2) was inked with Highland Heather and Lost Lagoon Stampin’ Write Markers, then stamped on Basic White cardstock. It was watercolored with Highland Heather, Lost Lagoon and Gorgeous Grape Stampin’ Write Markers and the Water Painters, then hand-cut and added inside the opening, but hanging over slightly. A single flower in the large image was done the same way.
- Happy Birthday from Very Best Occasions was stamped with Gorgeous Grape Ink on Lost Lagoon cardstock and cut with the label Thoughtful Expressions Die. It was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Some Purple Fine Shimmer Gems were added to the background.
I don’t know that I’ve ever seen purple dogwoods, but it was a different look using this SAB set and I really like how it turned out! OK, go check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did with this challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary
