Create with Connie and Mary Challenge – Sweet Summer

It's Thursday Challenge time over on Create with Connie and Mary!  We invite you to play along this week with a fabulous sketch challenge!

 

 

Here is my card this week based on the sketch.  Since we are featuring the Sale-A-Bration products on Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Edition, I used one of my favorites…Sweet Summer…to make my card.  I paired it with Springtime Vintage.  I love the blue colors in this paper!

 

 

I started my card by stamping the flower image four times on Very Vanilla cardstock.  One flower is cut out and layered over top the middle flower.  I used the colors of Marina Mist, Baja Breeze, Peach Parfait and Old Olive Stampin' Write Markers and an AquaPainter to color the flower images.  I punched it with the 2 3/8 Scallop Circle (NOW AVAILABLE AGAIN TO ORDER!)  It is layered on a 2 1/2 Circle of Old Olive cardstock.

 

The base of the card is Very Vanilla and I layered on the small Baja Breeze flower print from Springtime Vintage Designer Paper.  I wrapped some Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon around to the back, then two Night of Navy 1/8" Taffeta strands along each side of the Very Vanilla…I actually like the striped look it achieved!  I picked up the color of Peach Parfait that I used in the centers of the flowers and ran it thru the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Impressions Folder for some texture.  It is layered on Very Vanilla and Night of Navy cardstock.  I stamped Celebrate from Fabulous Phrases in Night of Navy Classic Ink on Very Vanilla and punched with the Small Oval punch.  I placed three adhesive Pearls underneath the greeting.

 

Finally, I made a bow out of 1/8 Night of Navy Taffeta Ribbon, wrapped Linen Thread around it to hold the bow shape, and placed it on the stems with a Mini Glue Dot.
