Everyday Eleanor Hydrangeas

DAY 2!  It's begun!  Create with Connie and Mary Preview Week is HERE!  Our Design Team Member, Carrie Sampsel has a really useful FREE Tutorial for you today…see a sneak peek below!  AND…the rest of our Design Team will be celebrating with FREE Tutorials ALL THIS WEEK!  If that isn't enough…you have a chance to win one of SEVEN  BLOG CANDYS…a free subscription to Create with Connie and Mary!  Don't you just LOVE Preview Week?  Don't worry, if you've already subscribed, you can still win!  We'll just apply your win to the Holiday 2012 Edition!  Check out the details daily on Create with Connie and Mary!

We are featuring "Fabulous Florals" from the New Catalog 2012-13 for our Preview Week topic!  That includes Stippled Blossoms, Summer Silhouettes, Blooming with Kindness, Betsy's Blossom, Everything Eleanor, and Decorate a Daisy stamp sets.  Each week we will be focusing on a different topic in the New Catalog…next week is Nature!

So I pulled out Everything Eleanor again and received my inspiration from my beautiful blooming Hydrangea bushes out front of my house!  They are FULL of flowers and SO pretty.  I need to take a photo of them QUICK while they are so gorgeous!

The base of my card is Midnight Muse.  I layered on Baja Breeze that I stamped the swirl design in Everything Eleanor with Baja Breeze Ink.  I added a strip of the butterfly print from Patio Party Designer Paper.  For the focal flower, I stamped the small flower several times with Midnight Muse Ink on Baja Breeze cardstock.  I cut them out and layered them with Stampin' Dimensionals on a scrap 1 3/4" Circle.  I added the flower to a square of Whisper White and layered that on Primrose Petals cardstock that I placed on the front of the card!

Can you tell what I used for the leaves?  Yep!  I punched the Butterfly punch from Old Olive, cut it in half and stamped the small floral image in Old Olive on it, then curled them and tucked them behind the Hydrangea blossom.  I also punched a butterfly (I LOVE that NEW butterfly punch!) from Summer Starfruit, crumpled it up and sponged with Summer Starfruit Ink.  Then placed it on the card with a Stampin' Dimensional and added a trio of Pearls to the body.  FInally, I stamped the greeting from Petite Pairs in Midnight Muse on Old Olive and cut the end in a Flag.

Hope you like my inkspired treasure!

And, don't forget to check out today's FREE TUTORIAL over on Create with Connie and Mary!  I can't wait to make one for myself and get organized!  Here's a sneak peek!  AND see where to go to get a chance for Blog Candy!

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 20 years and will have my 19th year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!

I love the hydrangea, Connie! I have always loved Night of Navy but I think Midnight Muse is becoming my favorite dark blue color and it goes so well with Baja Breeze which I didn't like at all when it was an In Color. Go figure!

Love the hydranga card- also like Mary's 3-D card box and easel card but her site would not let me fill out my info.  Always enjoy your site. Thanks for sharing
