Flowerfull Heart

December 18, 2013 By Connie | 4 Comments

How about a new picture of my grandson, Carter?  He turned six months old last week!  Hard to believe it has gone by SO fast!  I'm amazed at how he has grown and has such a personality now!

I've had Valentines on the brain since we are featuring a Create with Connie and Mary Valentine Special MINI Collection!  All three of the A Whole Lot of Love stamp sets have been sitting on my desk, along with the Fresh Prints Designer Paper Pack.  For this card, I pulled out both the Flowerfull Heart single stamp and the greeting from Follow My Heart stamp set.

I think the Fresh Prints Designer Paper is the STAR of this card!  Love the color combination of Coastal Cabana, Real Red and Crumb Cake…so "fresh" looking!  Here are the details:

  1. The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Real Red, folded in half.
  2. Another layer of 4 x 5 1/4 Crumb Caked was pl
  3. I added a 2 1/4 x 5 1/4 panel of Fresh Prints DSP across the bottom, then added a 1" x 5 1/4 strip of the reverse side across it.
  4. I stamped the True Love image from Follow My Heart stamp set in Real Red on the Crumb Cake layer.
  5. The Flowerfull Heart image was stamped with Coastal Cabana on Whisper White and cut with the Heart Framelit.  I placed on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  6. I tied a double bow from Linen Thread, then adhered a Simply Clay flower I watercolored with Real Red Marker to the center.

It's amazing what that little embellishment touch of Linen Thread and Simply Clay make on the card!

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 20 years and will have my 19th year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!

Carter is just cute, cute, cute! And sitting up already? Who blinked?

Love the card, Connie. Looking forward to playing with my Valentines supplies-after all of my Christmas cards and goodie boxes and bags have gone out.

Such a sweet baby! I didn't know you were a grandma, Connie. I'll bet snuggling this boy is one of your favorite things to do after stamping. Maybe it even ranks before stamping. I like your card too. I'll have to go back and see what three sets are part of the Whole Lot of Love promotion.

Wow, your grandson is a CUTIE!  He must melt your heart whenever you're with him!

I think pretty much all the stampers are tired of making Christmas cards, Christmas projects, and Christmas scrapbook pages, and we're ready to MOVE ON!

Your card is perfect — onto the new stuff!

Thanks for sharing, and Happy Holidays!
