Growing Green Wedding Invitation

August 8, 2011 By Connie | 21 Comments

Well, the wedding was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!  The ceremony was engaging and heartfelt.  The weather was perfectly nice for outdoor pictures, the reception room was decorated beautifully, food was excellent!  Many people came up and told us that this was the best wedding they had ever attended.  No one was wanting to leave…  My son, Ross, and his new wife, Allie, were so happy with the results of all the planning!  Here is their picture at the Rehearsal Dinner.

I have MANY pictures, of course.  Over the next week I'll be sharing the stamping items I did…mixed in with some of the wedding photos, of course.  I used almost Stampin' Up! items exclusively…except for the navy polka dot ribbon that we didn't carry.  Their colors were Night of Navy and Melon Mambo, with some Pumpkin Pie accents since my son loves orange!  I'm starting with the wedding invitation.  I made over 150 of them.  Our attendance ended up around 205 for the reception…a few more who attended the wedding at the church only.

The pocket folder was made from 12×12 Night of Navy.  On the outside, I stamped the images from Stampin' Up!'s Growing Green in the bottom left and top right corners with Night of Navy Classic Ink.  The belly band is Melon Mambo stamped with the images in Night of Navy and wrapped around and secured with Sticky Strip.  I designed the logo for Ross and Allie with Photoshop so that the initials intertwined.  We used this logo a lot on various items from the wedding.  The outside envelope was also stamped with the Growing Green images in Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie.  The details were all printed on Shimmery White cardstock.  I was able to find a place that also sold the Shimmery White outside #10 envelopes and response card envelopes…they matched the paper perfectly!

EDIT:  Since I've been getting a ton of requests, here are the measurements:  The Night of Navy pocket portfolio measures 10 1/2" wide x 9 1/4" tall.  The width is scored at 2 1/2 and 6 1/2 and the top and bottom of the 2 1/2" tab is secured with Sticky Strip to form the pocket.  This fits perfectly in a #10 sized standard size long envelope.  The invite Melon Mambo panel is 3 3/4 x 9 and the Shimmery White invite panel is 3 1/2 x 8 3/4".  The Reception card Melon Mambo panel is 8 1/4 x 3 1/2 and the Shimmery White panel is 3 1/4 x 8".  The response card is a standard postcard size.  The belly band is 1 1/2 x 8 1/2 and 1/4 is overlapped and adhered together with Sticky Strip under the front monogram.  All the printing was done on my home computer and I did cut everything with my big trimmer.  I just didn't trust the printers to not mess up my Shimmery White cardstock!  lol!

Inside has a pocket on the left side that held the Response Card and envelope, the Reception/Accommodation details and directions to the church and reception.  On the right was the information about the wedding.  Again I used the logo in the upper right corner and stamped the flowers from Growing Green in Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo in the bottom left corner.  It was layered on Melon Mambo.

The Reception/Accommodation card matched the design of the wedding invite, as did the Response card and envelope.

Here is the assembly of all the invitations!  Quite a project!

I used a LOT of Melon Mambo cardstock in the wedding as you will see…probably over 12 packages!  I'll have to go back and count…I kept having to order more!  Stay tuned for more projects from the wedding!

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 19 years and had my 18th year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!

This is STUNNING! Would you mind sharing the measurements for the folder? I'm currently doing "save the date" cards for a bride and will be moving on to the invites. I think she would LOVE this design!

You created a beautiful invitation. I appreciate all the work because we just did one for DS and his fiance. So much cutting and gluing but worth it for the unique results.
