Thanking all the Veteran’s and their families this Veteran’s Day! I appreciate your service and sacrifice to our country and ensuring our safety!
Well, I’m getting a LATE, LATE start to my day, but the reason why is QUITE enjoyable! Received a phone call from my son early this morning that he and my daughter-in-law were both sick with the flu and could I watch Quinn! Well, no problem! However, I had a 9:30 AM stamp class scheduled and hadn’t finished posting my cards for today or making the one for tomorrow! Good thing my husband was home for Veteran’s Day and stepped in to help, too! So…class went great, but when I got done with class, first nap was done and it was time for lunch, then playtime. So, just sitting down now to write up my blog post!
So, I had wanted to make a Patriotic Christmas Card and decided that Embellished Ornaments would be a good one to use. REALLY wish we had a ton more colors of Glimmer Paper, but made due by dying the Dazzling Details Glimmer Paper with Island Indigo Reinker. Not as dark as I wanted, but it works!
Here are the details:
- The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Real Red, folded in half.
- On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, the greeting in Embellished Ornaments was stamped with Island Indigo Ink in the upper left corner. The holly vine was stamped with Garden Green in the lower right.
- The colored Glimmer Paper and Red Glimmer Paper were cut with the Delicate Ornament Thinlet Die. The tops were cut with Silver Foil cardstock. Real Red and Garden Green 1/8 Striped Ribbon were tied in bows and added to the tops of the ornaments. They were placed on the front with Mini Glue Dots in a couple spots.
- The holly leaves vine was stamped twice more with Garden Green on scrap Whisper White, then watercolored with Pear Pizzazz Ink and the berries with Real Red Marker. They were hand cut and adhered over the other holly vine, tucking in around the ornaments.
So, like I said, I REALLY like how this turned out using the Red and Blue ornaments!
