SUOC186 Hug in a Mug

October 24, 2017 By Connie | Leave a Comment

The theme this time on SUO Challenges is “Something Sweet”. This could be images of candy, cupcakes, anything!  I decided to use a brand new set to me…Hug in a Mug!  Hot Chocolate is definitely sweet!  Here’s what I did!

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Cherry Cobbler cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake was stamped randomly with the small snowflake and dots images from Hug in a Mug in White Craft Ink for the background.
  • A 1-1/4 x 4 strip of Be Merry Designer Paper was added across the front.  Then a 1/8 strip o Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper on top of it.
  • A Stitched Shapes Oval was cut from Whisper White.
  • Towards the bottom of the oval, the “ground” was stamped with Crumb Cake Ink.
  • On a scrap piece of Whisper White, the mug, candy cane and marshmallows were stamped with Memento Black ink and cut out.  The inside of the mug was stamped with Cherry Cobbler Ink, the snowflake with Memento Black.  The candy cane colored with Cherry Cobbler Marker.
  • Wink of Stella was added to the marshmallows.
  • A small Pearl was added to the snowflake in the center and a few scattered in the background.
  • The mug was popped up on the oval and the oval popped up on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink under the oval.

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the Design Team for SUO Challenges did this week with this theme! I’m sure they will have some great ideas!

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 20 years and will have my 19th year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!
