Create with Connie and Mary – Fun Flowers

February 5, 2011 By Connie | 6 Comments

Today is the Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Edition Saturday Challenge and we have a sketch for you to try.  We invite our subscribers to play along and be entered into a drawing for one of two $75 Stampin' Up! gift certificates OR one of two FREE subscriptions to the SUMMER Edition of Create with Connie and Mary!  They get a chance for each time they submit their entry to our weekly challenges!  It's not too late to join.

This week we have been showcasing the products from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure!  I'm sure our subscribers will agree that there have been some FABULOUS projects shared by our Design Team!

I am SO sick of COLD and SNOW that I just HAD to bring some bright colors and springtime thoughts into my card!  Plus, it is my Mother in Law's birthday today, so this card was made for her!

I started with a base of Melon Mambo.  I layered on Whisper White that I ran thru the Big Shot with the new Framed Tulips Impressions Folder.  I used a sponge dauber to lightly sponge on Pink Pirouette Classic Ink on the raised areas…just for a little extra drama!  I cut a piece of Ice Cream Parlor Designer Paper with the Top Note, cut a portion off, and placed it on the Whisper White.  I cut a length of Old Olive 1 1/4 Striped Ribbon and secured the left side behind the Whisper White.  I wrapped some Linen Thread around the ribbon to gather, then added a Sweet Stitches Designer Button WITH an Ice Cream Parlor flower button in the center, then tied a bow with the Linen Thread.  I cut the Fun Flowers with Daffodil Delight, Pink Pirouette, and Old Olive, ran them thru the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots and Square Lattice Impressions Folders.  I added a fun Sweet Stitches Fabric Button to the center of the flower.

Finally, I stamped Birthday Wishes from the Sale-A-Bration stamp set "So Happy for You" in Melon Mambo on Pink Pirouette cardstock and trimmed to a small banner to add to the front.

Yes…it definitely made me feel better to have such a bright and sunny looking card!  Make sure to check out what the rest of the Design Team did on Create with Connie and Mary today!  You'll be glad you did!  And…if you haven't signed up yet…why not?  Join us!

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 18 years and had my 17 year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!
