Friends 24-7

August 4, 2009 By Connie | 5 Comments

Well, I’m off to Convention WAY too early this morning!  I’ve scheduled posts throughout the week so you won’t miss me!  I’m not going into great detail on any of them, so feel free to leave me a comment or email if you want more information!

This week’s challenge on Late Night Stampers is to make a Monochromatic card.  When I first thought about it, I didn’t know what to do.  Then, I decided I was thinking too hard and that Monochromatic didn’t mean just one color…but the same color tones.

For this card, I started with a base of Sahara Sand and layered on Soft Suede.  I then added a layer of Bella Bleu Designer Paper and used the ticket corner on each layer.  I wrapped some Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon around to the back and adhered.  The bird from Friendsd 24-7 was stamped with Soft Suede ink on Sahara Sand cardstock…then I off stamped the damask stamp in that same set with Sahara Sand in the background behind the bird.  This was layered on Soft Suede.  I stamped Here for You with Soft Suede on Sahara Sand and punched with the large Oval Punch, then layered on the Scallop Oval punched from Soft Suede.  It is raised up with Dimensionals.

What do you think?  I think I achieved the monochromatic look!

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 18 years and had my 17 year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!

Your card is beautiful, love the look of monochromatic but haven’t really tried it myself. I need to expand my horizons!

Connie, You did achieve the look.
24-7 Set is one of my favorites and as I can see with your card here it fits in a variety of themes, colors and placements on a card.
    Very Classy card.
