Holiday Happiness

I picked up this set with some hostess credits that I had, but haven't used it yet!  When I saw the challenge over on Colour Q (CQC49) was shades of blue and Soft Suede, I remembered seeing a Christmas tree done in all shades of blue and white!  Now…I'm one that has my main tree and decorations all color coordinated..  Right now it is colors of Copper, Kiwi Kiss and Gold.  Past decorations have been Real Red and Whisper White and another with Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo and Gold (my living room was decorated with plum colors at that time!)  I seem to change out about every 10 years…I'm on year 6 with this color scheme, so I have a few more to go.  Anyway…a blue tree is not outside the possibility for me…I can see it shimmering with icicles…very frosty!

For my card, I wanted to use the new Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die to show the variations in blue…Marina Mist is the bottom layer, with Pacific Point next and Night of Navy.  TIP:  Cut your cardstock wider than the width of the card you are placing it on…that way you can pick where you want the "curves" of the trim pieces to go on your card!  I layered these on Soft Suede cardstock that I ran thru the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Folder.

 

 

I stamped the tree from Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Happiness with Soft Suede on Whisper White, then I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add the ornaments in the colors of Pacific Point, Marina Mist, Night of Navy and Soft Suede.  Now…I think I over-did it with the ornaments…but…oh well!  I like a tree FULL of ornaments!  lol!  I used the Corner Punch on the bottom of the Whisper White, then used a sponge dauber and Soft Suede all around the edges.  I also used my AquaPainter to color in the base and add some ground color.  I wrapped the ribbon around to the back and secured (before I placed the trims), then made a big double bow with Lee's Bow Maker on top!  I like the whimsical look of this card!  Hmmm, looking at it now, I'm going back to add some BLING with the rhinestones!  lol!
