Wow! October already! We have a new Creatively Simple theme this month called “Eat, Drink or Be Scary!
I was very much inspired by Libby Fen’s black cat quilt card using Stitched Stockings Dies, so decided to see what other image I could make using the dies! How about a BAT? I love using products for things other than their intended purpose!
STITCHED STOCKINGS BAT
- The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Basic Gray cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
- A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of the orange spiderweb print in Frightening Fun DSP was added on top.
- A coordinating 1 x 5-1/4 strip of striped Frightening Fun DSP was added across the front towards the bottom.
- The bat was created by assembling the Stitched Stockings squares and triangle stitched die pieces cut from Basic Gray for the wings and black swirl print from Frightening Fun DSP for the body. (The head was four of the small triangles, the body the large square, the insides wings are two large squares and the wing tips two large triangles.) They were adhered to a 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 Very Vanilla square for stability and then trimmed around the shape. The bat was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The Web of Fun greeting was stamped with Basic Black Ink on Very Vanilla and cut with a portion of the label Stitched Stockings Die. It was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- A trio of black dots from Adhesive Backed Ghosts Bats & Dots package was added to the background.
