I can remember exactly where I was 10 years ago today, as I'm sure most Americans (and the rest of the world) can. I was on my way to a meeting, the radio off as I was thinking what I needed to cover for my portion. I walked into a very somber room with the TV displaying the tragedy. My panic increased as I realized that my husband was out of town, at the top of the Key Tower Executive Offices in Cleveland. The building had been evacuated…luckily he was in the last elevator car to get down the 57 floors before they turned off the elevators and people had to walk down. We found out later that Cleveland had been listed as a terrorist target. Key Tower is one of the tallest buildings there.
Some of us on the Create with Connie and Mary Design and Challenge Teams have put together a selection of cards to pay tribute to all those of us who were touched by this tragic event. Please visit Create with Connie and Mary to be inspired by their cards. If you have also created a card commemorating today, please upload it to our Inlinkz gallery over there.
God Bless the USA!
I used Pacific Point cardstock for the base of the card. I added the stars pattern from Big Top Birthday Designer Paper to the front. I used a strip of Whisper White to hide the seam and stamped Remember from Word Play with Real Red and Pacific Point Stampin' Write Markers. I cut the large Silver Glimmer Star from the Stars Die and popped it up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Very clean and simple card that has a lot of impact!
Hope you will take a moment to remember…
