Saturday Blog Hop – Red and Green Christmas

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Red and Green Christmas”!  I always love the traditional colors of Christmas!  The Joy of Christmas Suite of products is just PERFECT for this theme!  I combined both dies from Christmas Classics and Joy of Noel on this card.

CHRISTMAS CLASSICS

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Garden Green cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake was stamped with the pine branch from Joy of Noel stamp set several times in the corners with Garden Green Ink.  It was embossed with the Timber Embossing Folder and added to the front.
  • The label die was cut from Cherry Cobbler cardstock with the Christmas Classics Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • NOEL letters were cut from Joyful Specialty Designer Paper using the Joy of Christmas Dies.
  • A couple branches were cut from Gold Foil using the Christmas Classics Dies and tucked under the label die.
  • A trio of gold Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins were added to the background.

CS107 – Christmas Classics

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Mary and I will pick a theme.  This month the theme is Monochromatic cards!

CHRISTMAS CLASSICS

I had several of these pieces laying on my desk as starts for other projects.  I think they combined well together and was SO easy!  Would make a wonderful Christmas card to mass produce!

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Shaded Spruce cardstock was embossed with the Christmas Tidings Embossing Folder.
  • A 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Joy of Christmas Designer Paper was added across the center.
  • The evergreen frame was cut from Basic White cardstock with the Christmas Classics Dies and adhered to the front.
  • The square label was cut from Basic White cardstock and stamped with the greeting in Shaded Spruce Ink.  It was added to the frame with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A green Tinsel Gems 4-pack was added to the label.
  • The silver Simply Elegant Trim was tied in a bow and added to the top of the frame.

Stamping 411 – Christmas Classics

Yeah!  Saturday and time for another Stamping 411 sketch.  When I first looked at this sketch, I had NO clue what I would do.  Then I saw a new stamp set (for me) called Christmas Classics.  I have wanted this set for the single stamp, Jingle All The Way, that matches the Decor Elements piece.  I finally picked it up with my hostess credits on my last order!

So here is my take on this sketch!  I started with a base of Garden Green (somehow I have ended up with 3 full packages of this card stock color!)  The Whisper White layer was run thru the Big Shot with the Petals A Plenty cardstock…LOVE this look!  I wrapped the Real Red 3/4 Polka Dot Ribbon around and tied it in the front.  I decided not to be a sentiment here since I already had one in the center.  I used my Stampin' Write markers in Real Red and Garden Green to ink up the Jingle All the Way stamp from Stampin' Up!'s Christmas Classics stamp set..  I layered the Whisper White on Garden Green, then a layer of Real Red.

Pretty simple card, but I think it packs a lot of wow with the textured background and the alternating layers!
