P.S. I Love You

Oh…I think I'm going to LOVE Stampin' Up!'s PS I Love You set in the Occasions Mini! I've been playing around with it for a couple Create with Connie and Mary Occasions projects and now did up this card real quick! Love that it has greetings in it, too! I followed the color scheme on Colour Q challenge #117 with Black, White and any other color! Obviously I chose Real Red!

And here is my card:

I decided to use the Real Red Patterns Designer Paper because Stampin' Up! currently has a special package called Love Patterns of 12 sheets of Real Red and Pretty in Pink Patterns for Valentine's on the CLEARANCE RACK for $1.99 (regularly $9.95)! The base of the card is Whisper White and I added a layer of Basic Black. I used another piece of Whisper White and ran it thru the Big Shot with the Houndstooth Impressions Folder. I cut four Scallop Heart Embosslits from Basic Black. Then I punched two of the Real Red Patterns with the Full Heart Punch. I stamped the hearts image from Stampin' Up!'s PS I Love You stamp set with Real Red and punched it with the Full Heart Punch. Next I punched a Real Red cardstock Full Heart and stamped Love You from the same stamp set inside with Basic Black. I added a flower White button from the Neutrals Button pack with White Bakers Twine tied inside. Oh, the Love You heart is popped up with Dimensionals. I really like how it turned out!

Watercolor Trio

Sorry about the missing post yesterday! I left the house early, got home late afternoon and just ran out of time to work on anything to post! I had the best intentions! lol!

Today I worked on the Colour Q Challenge (CQC32) to use Kiwi Kiss or Old Olive, Groovy Guava or Cameo Coral, Black, Kraft and Very Vanilla. I chose to use the current Stampin' Up! colors. Those colors were perfect for the flowers in Stampin' Up!'s Watercolor Trio stamp set!

I started with a base card of Old Olive cardstock. I punched the corners of Cameo Coral cardstock with the Scallop Trim Corner Punch (still available to order!) for the next layer. I cut a strip of Kraft cardstock and wrapped Old Olive Satin Ribbon around to the back. On Very Vanilla, I stamped the three flowers in Old Olive Classic Ink, Cameo Coral Classic Ink and Sahara Sand Classic Ink (substituting for Kraft ink…which we will be getting SOON! Woohoo!) I ran the stamped Very Vanilla thru the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder (another item still available to order!), and layered it on Basic Black. Doesn't Basic Black make the colors POP? Finally, I inked the Thanks So Much from Watercolor Trio with my Old Olive and Cameo Coral Stampin' Write Markers and stamped it on Very Vanilla. I punched it with the Large Oval Punch, then layered it on a Scallop Oval from Old Olive cardstock.

I LOVE how this turned out! What do you think?

Tropical Party Again!

Yes, I'm still working with Stampin' Up!'s new Summer Edition stamp set, Tropical Party! I combined a couple challenges to make this card. First was the color challenge over on Colour Q. Then I used the Sketch Challenge over on Stampin' Connection (a website for demos).

Now…from the sketch, you might assume that I'd use the flower in Tropical Party…however, I'm doing this challenge with my team mate, Mary Brown, and I just KNEW she'd do her trio of flowers! So, I had to think of another way to use this sketch with the Tropical Flowers stamps. I decided to use the palm tree and the technique Watercolor Wash for my background with Shimmery White cardstock. I cheated just a little bit by using Chocolate Chip on the tree trunks (I couldn't use BLUE!), but I considered it a neutral. lol! I used my Stampin' Write Markers in Chocolate Chip and Certainly Celery for the palm trees and stamped it over the background. I layered it on Brilliant Blue cardstock.

To my base card of Tempting Turquoise, I added a strip of Certainly Celery that I ran thru the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Impressions Folder. I wrapped Crushed Curry Polka Dot Ribbon around it and tied with a knot. I punched the Modern Label with Brilliant Blue and did the same technique on the Shimmer White for Thinking of You (Trendy Trees) and punched with the Word Window punch. I stamped three small flowers in Brilliant Blue, Tempting Turquoise and Crushed Curry, punched them out, added Mini Brads to the centers and placed them on Stampin' Dimensionals in the bottom corner. I'm amazed…I really didn't think the colors will go well with this set, but I think I pulled it off!
