Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “Sparkle”.  It’s the PERFECT theme for this month, don’t you think?  We’ll create a simple card every Tuesday in December using that theme!

LEAVES OF HOLLY

I love the simple white holly leaves against the Crumb Cake background…with a splash of colorful red!

 

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • Base is 4-1/4 x 11 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock was sponged along the edges with Crumb Cake Ink.
  • Noel from Framed & Festive Stamp Set was stamped with Poppy Parade Ink in the lower left corner.
  • Two background holly leaves were cut from Basic White cardstock with the Holly Berry Dies.  Two detail holly leaves were cut from White Glimmer Paper with the Holly Berry Dies and adhered together.  They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The background berries were cut from Poppy Parade cardstock with the Dies and the detail berries with Red Glimmer Paper.  They were adhered together and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some white Classic Dots were added in the background.

It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge.  Isn’t this a pretty holly garland?  LOVE the colors!

 

 

LEAVES OF HOLLY

Here’s what I did with the inspiration!  I was going for a single layer card, but then decided it needed a little dimension, so used a white holly leaf and berries!

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Garden Green cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
    • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the Leaves of Holly small solid leaf in Coastal Cabana and stamped off Garden Green Inks randomly along the edges.  The detail leaf images were stamped over top in Bermuda Bay and full-strength Garden Green.
    • Christmas Wishes from Leaves of Holly stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
    • The solid and detail holly leaves were cut with the Holly Berry Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • A trio of large Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the stem for the berries, and one medium to the background above the greeting.

Hello!  It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  It’s a fun sketch again this week!

LEAVES OF HOLLY

I love the poinsettia prints in the Boughs of Holly Designer Paper and let them do all the work on my card this week!  The depth of these prints is so realistic!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The top portion is embossed with the Wintry Embossing Folder.
  • A 2-1/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Boughs of Holly was cut, then layered on a 2-1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock.  It was adhered diagonally across the front of the base card, then trimmed off the sides.
  • The greeting from Leaves of Holly stamp set was stamped with Mossy Meadow Ink diagonally.
  • A trio of gold Festive Pearls were added to the background.

Hello!  It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  We have a wonderful Sketch to inspire us this week!

LEAVES OF HOLLY

The Boughs of Holly Designer Paper does most of the work on this card!  I love the patterns and rich Christmas colors!

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • Two patterns from the Boughs of Holly Designer Paper were cut 2-1/2 x 4-3/4 and adhered overlapping on top of the base card.
  • A 1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Evening Evergreen c/s was adhered on top.
  • One of the single poinsettias in the Boughs of Holly DSP was hand-cut and added towards the left with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Leaves of Holly stamp set was stamped with Real Red Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the Holly Berry Dies, then added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Three small gold Seasonal Sequins were added to the center of the poinsettia.

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This month our challenges will be to “case the catalog”.  Each week we have a new card design to inspire us taken right from the catalog…we could use the colors, the layout, or the stamp set and dies.  I’ve chosen the layout for today’s card!

LEAVES OF HOLLY

I just got my Leaves of Holly Bundle and couldn’t wait to play!  This is my first card using it!  The solid label shape worked perfectly!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Garden Green cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/2 piece of Basic White cardstock was added on top.
  • Six 1/2 x 3-1/2 strips of Sweetest Christmas Designer Paper were added across the front with the ends angled.
  • The label from the Holly Berry Dies was cut from Garden Green cardstock and the backing for the leaves from Parakeet Party cardstock.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Leaves of Holly was stamped with Sweet Sorbet Ink and cut with the smaller label in the Holly Berry Dies.  It was adhered on top.
  • A trio of Seasonal Sequins were added to the background.
