It’s Thursday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends challenge!  This week is a fun sketch challenge…looks like a pocket card to me!

SKETCHED BUTTERFLIES

I’ve had this Sketched Butterflies Bundle for a while and think I only used it one time!  It worked out pretty well to combine the butterflies with the FREE Sale-A-Bration 12×12 Bloom Inspirations Designer Paper!

Stampin’ Details:

• The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Highland Heather cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
• I used the small butterfly cluster image to randomly stamp them with Highland Heather Ink around the top portion of the base card.
• The Bloom Inspirations DSP was cut to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2, then cut on the diagonal (save the other piece for another card!)  It was adhered to the front of the base card with Tear & Tape on the two sides and bottom creating a pocket.
• A 3/4 x 4-1/4 strip of coordinating Bloom Inspirations DSP was added across the bottom.
• For my pocket pieces, I cut 2-1/4 x 4-1/4 pieces of Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo cardstock.
• Next, I cut a 2 x 4 piece of the coordinating DSP and added it to the Melon Mambo one.  Then cut a 2 x 4 piece of Basic White cardstock and stamped the greeting along the top in Highland Heather Ink.  I also stamped a small butterfly in Memento Black towards the bottom and colored it with Peach Pie and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends.  It was added to the Flirty Flamingo cardstock.
• The medium, side and small sized butterflies were stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Basic White and colored with Stampin’ Blends.  They were cut with the dies and added to the front and the pocket pieces with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• The medium and small detail butterflies were cut with the dies from Peach Pie cardstock and adhered at the bottom of the DSP pocket piece.

• Some Two-Toned Sparkle Gems were added to the bodies of each butterfly.
• Tuck the pocket pieces inside the pocket with the butterfly wings slightly hanging over the edge as shown.

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge.  It’s a fun sketch challenge this week!

SKETCHED BUTTERFLIES

I sure wish we had a set of large oval dies in Stampin’ Up!’s lineup!  I miss them!  I’ve kept the retired set for personal use…I just love that shape!  But I figured the Nested Essentials Dies would work in this case!

Stampin’ Details:

• The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pumpkin Pie cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
• The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Daffodil Delight was stamped across the top with the small butterflies in Daffodil Delight Ink randomly.
• A 3 x 5-1/4 piece of Full of Life Designer Paper was cut on the diagonal and added to the bottom of the Daffodil Delight cardtsock.
• A sliver of Basic Black cardstock was added cross the seam and trimmed to fit.
• Some Basic White cardstock was cut with the second from largest Nested Essentials Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 1/2 x 3 piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and the end flag cut.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• I had the butterflies finished on my desk.  They were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock.  Blending Brushes were used to add Berry Burst, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight Inks to them, then cut with the Sketched Butterflies Dies.  The Stampin’ Dimensionals were placed just under the body portion and added to the front of the card.
• Some pink Adhesive Backed Sequins Trio were added to the background and one large green to the large butterfly body and one small green to the smaller butterfly body.
• Some black Essentials Baker’s Twine was tied in a bow and added to the large butterfly body with a Mini Glue Dot.
