Have you EVER had one of THOSE cards…a comedy of error cards? That is THIS one! It started out with a perfectly good idea in my head that took ALL morning (between a DOZEN interruptions) to finish! I wanted to use Technostampers Monday Lunchtime sketch TSSC172…then I saw the background…uh oh…
I do like the look of the panels, but find it hard to get them to look even…but her sketch shows them uneven. OK! Let's go! So…I cut them uneven…don't like it…too busy with the prints I chose from the new designer paper, Beyond the Garden. Ok…cut them even and cut down the center panel. OK! Now too much Wild Wasabi showing (the strips were cut 3/4" wide) between the panels and the DSP…ok…add some white around it. Better. Adhered to the base card of Daffodil Delight. BRIGHT!
Now…the center panel. Stamping away with the flowers and leaves across the panel in Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point and Wild Wasabi. Good! Oh no! A nice Pacific Point thumbprint RIGHT in the center of the yellow background flower. OK…I can rescue it…I'll do a focal flower in Whisper White with Daffodil Delight…cut it out…no…disappears into the background flowers. OK…stamp it with Pacific Point on Daffodil Delight cardstock. Cut it out. HUH…did you know that the large flower has a punch for it? So, why did I cut it out? TWICE! OK…fine…cut out a couple leaves from Wild Wasabi, too…I checked…no punch for them! Whew! OK…add the Whisper White floral panel to the front. Hmmm, no…it needs a layer under it…take off the white panel…add Wild Wasabi…hmmm, no…too much green…take off, add Daffodil Delight cardstock. OK! Add to front. Now…missing something…what? Oh…a greeting! OK….stamp the trio of Hello images from new stamp set, Happy Greetings…CROOKED…grrr…ok…ink up with markers again and stamp. Whew…add it to front. Decide to make it wavy like a pennant…cut it too close to the right edge, but at this point I DON'T CARE! Finished! Take photo…it's a wrap!
Aren't you glad you joined me today? Just so you can read my mental anguish over this card! It really did take almost 4 hours to complete it and blog about it. Am I nuts? I just hope the rest of my prep for tomorrow's Technique Class isn't as painful! lol!
