It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This month our challenges will be to “case the catalog”.  Each week we have a new card design to inspire us taken right from the catalog…we could use the colors, the layout, or the stamp set and dies.  This week I’m using one of the FREE SAB bundles, Wonderful World.  SO pretty!

WONDERFUL WORLD

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Calypso Coral cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 1 x 2 piece of Pear Pizzazz is adhered to the right bottom.
  • On top is a 2-3/4 x 3-3/4 piece of floral Wonderful World DSP.
  • Next is another 1 x 2-3/4 piece of Pear Pizzazz to the left top.
  • A 1-1/2 x 3-1/4 piece of lattice Wonderful World DSP is added over it.
  • Finally, the 2 x 3 piece of Basic White cardstock is stamped with the greeting from Ringed with Nature in Rich Razzleberry.
  • The top of the rose stamp is colored with Calypso Coral Marker and the bottom with Pear Pizzazz Marker, then stamped.
  • Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the stem.
  • Three pink Facet Gems were added to the background.

Saturday Blog Hop – Cards with Frames

This week’s theme for our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop is “cards with frames”.  Stampin’ Up! has a HUGE variety of frames to choose from.  I picked one that I’ve been using a LOT lately from the Fabulous Frames Dies.

WONDERFUL WORLD

One of the new Level 2 Sale-A-Bration FREE Selections is Wonderful World.  It’s a bundle with a floral stamp set and coordinating designer paper!  SO pretty!  I thought this frame suited it perfectly!  I’ve always LOVED irises!

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Wonderful World DSP was added on top.
  • Two 1/2 x 4 strips of Old Olive were added across the center.
  • The frame was cut from both Orchid Oasis and Basic White cardstocks.  (Save the other pieces for another card!)
  • Adhere the Orchid Oasis frame to the front with Foam Strips.
  • The iris image from Wonderful World was inked with Orchid Oasis and Old Olive Stampin’ Write Markers directly on the stamp, then stamped on the center Basic White frame.
  • Birthday Wishes from Sending Smiles was stamped with Orchid Oasis Ink at the bottom of the iris.
  • A trio of In Color Matte Dots were added to the background.
