CS196 – You are Remarkable

It’s a new month and for the month of June we are featuring “masks”.  There are a multitude of different ways to mask on cards.  I’ll be showing a few different techniques over the next few weeks!

YOU ARE REMARKABLE

First up I chose to do defined edge masking.  Super simple.  Take two long pieces of cardstock and tape them down leaving an opening on your card front approximately 1-1/4″ wide (or any width you decide).

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Granny Apple Green cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • Add a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Black cardstock on top of the base card.
  • On the 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Basic White cardstock, temporarily adhere to long pieces of paper to mask and leave a 1-1/4″ gap.  Use Daffodil Delight Ink and Granny Apple Green Ink with Blending Brushes to add spots of color in the open area.  Remove the side masks.  This will give you nice crisp edges along the masked color!
  • Stamp the leaves and flower with Memento Black Ink over the colored ink.
  • Stamp the greeting with Memento Black Ink in the lower left corner.
  • Add a trio of white/gold Strawberry Slush & Pretty in Pink Gems to the background.

It’s Thursday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends challenge!  This week is a fun sketch for you to try!

YOU ARE REMARKABLE

I just picked up this stamp set with some host rewards and I LOVE it!  The daisy is so fresh and easy to use with two-step stamping to add color!  Definitely a hidden gem!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Daffodil Delight cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock is added on top.
  • The 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Cute As Can Bee Designer Paper was cut into four 1-7/8 x 2-1/2 pieces and added to the Basic White layer.
  • The Spotlight on Nature circle was cut from Basic Black cardstock and added to the front.
  • The daisy was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and punched with a 2″ Circle Punch (or use the smaller Spotlight on Nature circle die…I had already made this part before thinking it needed a mat).
  • Use the two step stamps on the petals with Petunia Pop Ink, center with Daffodil Delight Ink and leaves with Lemon Lime Twist Ink.  Add this circle to the Basic Black circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Stamp the top part of the You Are Remarkable greeting with Memento Black Ink on Daffodil Delight cardstock and hand-cut around the words.  Add to the circle with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of green Transparent Adhesive Backed Dots were added to the background.

It’s a new month and our Creatively Simple challenge theme is Gardens as the focus on our cards in April!

YOU ARE REMARKABLE

I just got this stamp set with my latest order and had to play with it right away!  This card is SO simple…perfect for this challenge…who doesn’t love daisies in their garden?  The flower is two-step stamping, so I didn’t even color!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Daffodil Delight cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Botanical Textures 12×12 Designer Paper is added on top.
  • Two 1/2 x 4 strips of Daffodil Delight cardstock were added across the center.
  • The arch was cut from Basic White cardstock with the Everyday Arches Dies.
  • The arch was stamped with the You Are Remarkable greeting in the lower left corner with memento Black Ink and the flower with Memento Black Ink next to it.  The flower petals were stamped with Daffodil Delight Ink, the center with Early Espresso and the stem/leaves with Garden Green Ink using the two-step stamps.
  • Three yellow Faux Glass Dots were added to the background.
