CCMC153 – Love and Care

June 2, 2011 By Connie | 4 Comments

Wow…sorry I've been pretty much MIA this week!  The four hour time difference from Alaska to Ohio has really messed with my sleeping and creating!  I finally HAD to get motivated today to get some assignments done and am happy to say that once I got started, I seemed to get my rhythm back.  Now…if I can sleep tonight, that will be great!  It hasn't helped that my husband has a cold and is SNORING so loud that it wakes me up!  lol!  Can any of you relate?

I do want to THANK my customers and friends who ordered from me during the Cruise Special!  I certainly appreciate your business!  Every little bit is helping me earn the Incentive Trip this year to Disney World!  Now that I've done one…I'm anxious to earn another one!

Anyway…on to my card!  We have a fun sketch challenge for you to try over on Create with Connie and Mary!  Mine came together really quickly!  Of course, I was given the sketch to use…I knew I wanted to use Love & Care since we are featuring that set this week over on the Summer Edition of Create with Connie and Mary (along with Strength & Hope).  Once I picked the designer paper, I had my color scheme!  LOVE it when it comes together so quickly!

So, even though the sketch had a square orientation, I turned it into a regular sized card.

I took my colors from the fabulous Nursery Suite Designer Paper (do you have this yet???  Better hurry!  It is retiring!)  I started with a base of Pretty in Pink cardstock.  I layered on Baja Breeze cardstock that I ran thru the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder.  I cut three strips 1" x 3 3/4" of the DSP for the background.  I stamped on the 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 square of Whisper White, rounded the corners with the Corner Rounder Punch and layered it on 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 square of Pretty in Pink and rounded the corners of it, too.  I used my Stampin' Write Markers to color the stem from Love & Care in Old Olive and the blossom in Pretty in Pink.  The leaves were added with Old Olive.  I stamped "With Love" in Early Espresso along the side.  I added a trio of Rhinestone Jewels for some bling in the corner!  Finally, I wrapped the Old Olive Taffeta Ribbon around and tied a double bow on the front.

Make sure to check out what the rest of the Thursday Challenge Team did this week over on Create with Connie and Mary.  Then follow the sketch to make your own creation and upload it over there!  We love to see your work!

AND…while you are there, why not sign up for the Create with Connie and Mary Summer Edition?  It's not too late to join!  We are in Week 3, but you have access to all the past FABULOUS projects that our designers have done along with Mary and I!  The tutorials are easy to understand and make…great for gifts or using for your classes and stamp camps!  Sign up TODAY!

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 20 years and will have my 19th year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!
