CCMC316 Flower Patch

August 14, 2014 By Connie | 6 Comments

It’s Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary Challenge!  We have a very pretty color combination this week to try!  For some reason, it called out flowers to me!  Of course…most of the time flower sets are calling to me!  lol!

CCMC316

And here is my card:

www.inkspiredtreasures.com

Now for the details:

  • The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Soft Sky, folded in half.
  • I added a layer of 4 x 5 1/4 Blackberry Bliss cardstock.
  • On the 3 3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White, I used Work of Art stamp set and stamped off the chevron pattern with Blackberry Bliss ink.  I then added stamped off circles from the same set going diagonally across the cardstock of Old Olive ink.
  • I embossed the Fun Frame and cut it out, and cut the inside rectangle out, too, so what is underneath would peak out.  I added it to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The starburst flower from Flower Patch was stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink on Whisper White and cut with the Flower Fair Framelits, along with a White center flower.  I also stamped the small center with Soft Sky on Soft Sky cardstock and used the framelit to cut it out, too.  I placed a pearl in the center.  I added it to the edge of the frame with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The leaves from Flower Patch were stamped off with Old Olive, then I added the “stem” for the veins full strength Old Olive ink.  I used the framelits again to cut out three of them and tucked them under the flower.
  • Finally I stamped the Be You tiful word with Old Olive on a strip of Whisper White, but cut off the end to read “Be You”.

I really like the softness of the Soft Sky color with the dark, rich Blackberry Bliss, don’t you?

Make sure to check out the rest of the Challenge Team over on Create with Connie and Mary to see what they did with the color challenge…fabulous as usual!

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 20 years and will have my 19th year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!
