CCMC372 Among the Branches

September 10, 2015 By Connie | 7 Comments

It’s Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary challenge.  We’re doing the following color combination this week, so grab your stamps and play along!

CCMC372 copy

Here’s my card:

CCMC372 Among the Branches

And here are the details to recreate it:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Delightful Dijon, folded in half.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Night of Navy is embossed with the Woodlands Embossing Folder.  A sponge dauber and White Craft Ink was added to the raised areas to make them stand out.
  • A 2-1/4 x 4 panel of So Saffron with a 2 x 4 piece of In Color Pattern DSP was placed along the left side.
  • Gold Cording was wrapped three times around the Night of Navy panel and secured in the back.
  • The Autumn Wishes medallion from Among the Branches was stamped with Night Of Navy Ink on Whisper White and punched with the 2″ Circle punch, then placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • LOTS of little leaves from Among the Branches were stamped with So Saffron and Delight Dijon Inks and hand cut, then placed among the tree trunks and medallion.

OK…make sure to check out the rest of the Thursday Challenge Team creations over on Create with Connie and Mary!  While you are there, don’t forget that we are taking signups for the SEPTEMBER Mini Session!

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 19 years and had my 18th year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!

I am going to have to try brayering my embossing folder! Mary did it and now you did it and it looks so cool! I just need some time to stamp…been too wrapped up in family stuff! Love the fussy cut leaves!

Oh I just love your fussy cut leaves! I was trying to give the impression of falling leaves on my card but yours knocks it out of the park! Great minds think alike right?! 😉

Awesome technique, especially the touch of white. It makes the trees look a little “ghosty”. The falling leaves add a lot to the background. Good for you for cutting all of them!

Love the way that the white just adds some dimension to the trees Connie and the floating leaves are perfect and definitely worth the fussy cutting – these colours are very striking together.

AWESOME! I love the tree background done in blue! It looks AMAZING! And all the hand cut leave…what super detail. I also love it combined with the polka dot dsp. What a lovely card!

I wouldn’t have thought to use the new woodland TIEF with the navy but it works superbly, especially after sponging on the white! Looks like the forest at night! I love these colors together… they make me happy! : )

Wow, the embossed trees look great this way! Easy for me to say…but I think it was definitely worth cutting out those leaves. They stand out beautifully! Love this!
