Create with Connie and Mary – Best Friends Forever

July 21, 2011 By Connie | 6 Comments

We're back!  After a two-week sketch and color challenge, Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenges are back to their regular once a week challenge!  It was a nice break for Mary and I to go to Convention…of course, we had a BLAST!  We met many of the Create with Connie and Mary designers…such a great group of TALENTED women!  Blessings to all of you!

We have another Color Challenge CCMC159 for you this week!  I had fun using one of the new sets I received at Convention this year called Best Friends Forever!  It seemed to be perfect with this color combination!

And here is my card!

I must have been influenced by Shelli a little bit at Convention…this shabby chic look is definitely more her style than mine!  I started with a base of Marina Mist cardstock.  I used Regal Rose and the new Houndstooth Impressions Folder on the next layer.  I distressed the edges and used a sponge dauber and Regal Rose ink to highlight the raised areas.  I used the Pinking Hearts Border Punch along the edge of the Sahara Sand piece and stamped it tone-on-tone with Sahara Sand Ink and the floral image from Best Friends Forever.  I stamped BFF in Marina Mist on Whisper White and punched with the Wide Oval Punch.  Then I stamped the polka dot image with Sahara Sand ink over the BFF.  I layered the Wide Oval on the Decorative Label Punch that is also distressed.  I placed it with Stampin' Dimensionals over White Satin Ribbon that I ruffled and adhered with Sticky Strip to the front of the card!

I stamped the heart with Regal Rose on Whisper White and cut it out.  I adhered it to the top of the BFF greeting.  Then I added a Marina Mist flower button with White Bakers Twine tied in a bow.  I really like how this card turned out!

Make sure to check out the rest of the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge Team submissions this week!  Can you say AWESOME!  They did a great job with this color combination!  So come on!  Grab your colors and play along with us this week!

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 20 years and will have my 19th year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!

Great card Connie!  I love seeing the houndstooth embossing folder!  It looks great with distressed edges and sponging!
