It's time for the weekly challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary! We have a FUN sketch for you to try this week! Don't let those diagonal rectangles stop you…it really isn't hard! Check out what the rest of the Design Team did this week with them!
I decided to use the stamp set that I received on the Alaska Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip! It is a fun little set called Best of Everything. I love sets that have a couple greetings included!
I pulled my colors from the Hostess Only Designer Paper called Cheerful Treat! I knew I wanted to use a couple different patterns for the rectangles in the background. I started with a base of Crushed Concord. I layered on Blushing Bride that I ran thru the Big Shot 3/4 of the way with Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder. I added the two patterns and wrapped around the YUMMY Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon…it is SO easy to work with and I love the colors!
I stamped my focal element tree by using my Lucky Limeade and Early Espresso Stampin' Write Markers on the stamp. I stamped it on Whisper White. Then I stamped the bird in Crushed Concord on Whisper White and cut him out. I stamped the beak again in Pumpkin Pie and cut it out then adhered it in place. He is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals in front of the tree. I layered the Whisper White on Lucky Limeade, then added it to the front of the diagonal panels with more Stampin' Dimensionals. Finally, I stamped the greeting with Crushed Concord on the front.
Fun, fun, FUN! This card makes me chuckle for some reason! Make sure to check out how the Design Team interpreted the sketch, then pull out your stamping supplies and create one yourself using the sketch as a guideline! Upload your challenge card over on Create with Connie and Mary! We love to see what you do!
