Create with Connie and Mary Challenge – Week 3

June 4, 2011 By Connie | 4 Comments

On Create with Connie and Mary Summer Edition website, we are offering another Color Challenge (CCMC-SUM03) this week!  Our Saturday Challenges are the only things that are shared on our personal blogs.  All other projects and tutorials are exclusively for Create subscribers.  AND…our subscribers are the only ones who can win a chance of two $75 gift certificates or two FREE subscriptions to the next Edition.   That's even MORE reason to join!  With over 30 projects for $29.95, that is about $1 per project with instructions for using in your classes or for gifts!  What a DEAL!  But, you don't need to be a demonstrator to join…customers LOVE us, too!  The week we have been featuring Hope & Strength and Love & Care in our projects!

I love the bright summery colors of the color challenge today, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight and Wild Wasabi just screams FLOWERS to me!  So, I used the Level 2 hostess set, Love & Care for my card today!

I must admit, this layout was a little challenging for me.  Not that I was going after any specific layout…just more of a look!  I wanted it to appear as if one of the flowers was "zoomed" in and close up!  I hope that is what I achieved somewhat abstractly!  lol!  I also had these scraps of the zig zag pattern from Tasteful Trim in my scrap bin…they looked like grass when stacked up on each other.  I added a little sponging to make them pop even more!

The base of the card is WIld Wasabi.  I layered on the yellow floral print from Beyond the Garden DSP.  The focal point, I inked up the image with Pacific Point and Wild Wasabi, stamping several times across the Whisper White.  I filled in some of the ends of the leaves with Daffodil Delight to make it look like there were more flowers.  Across the bottom, I stamped Thinking of You from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Wild Wasabi Ink.  I layered on the "grass" and then layered the Whisper White on Daffodil Delight.  I added an embossed butterfly from Beautiful Wings Embosslit and a pearl for the body.

I stamped the larger flower with Daffodil Delight and cut it out, along with a couple Wild Wasabi leaves.  I added small pearls in the center of the flower.  I popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals on a 2 1/2 punched circle of Pacific Point and placed it partially under the focal element.  I added the trio of graduated sizes of Pearls along the top of the circle.

A pretty card to let someone know I'm thinking about them and want to cheer them up!  Make sure to check out what the rest of the Create with Connie and Mary Design Team did this week with the color challenge!  I'm sure they will be FABULOUS!

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 20 years and will have my 19th year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!
