Welcome to Create with Stamping Friends Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Debbie and I will pick a theme for our simple cards. It’s a new month and July’s theme is “Summer”. Cards that have a represent the warmer temps and longer days…at least here in Ohio!
SIMPLY ZINNIA
I was looking at the Simply Zinnia stamp set and saw the little stars in the center of this flower! A 4th of July card came immediately to mind since that holiday is so close!
- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Real Red cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Blueberry Bushel cardstock was embossed with the Eyelet Embossing Folder (I felt like they looked like stars!)
- Two strips of 1/4 x 5-1/4 Real Red cardstock and one 1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Basic White were adhered towards the right side in a stripe pattern.
- The circle from Spotlight on Nature Dies was cut from Basic White cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The flower was stamped with Cherry Cobbler Ink and the leaves with Old Olive Ink. They were colored with Blueberry Bushel, Real Red and Poppy Parade and Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blends and cut with the Simply Zinnia Dies, then added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals. NOTE: Make sure not to color the stars in the center!
- The greeting was stamped with Real Red Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock and hand-cut around the letters, it was added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- A trio of white Adhesive Backed Sequins Trio were added in the background.
