Welcome to Create with Stamping Friends Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Debbie and I will pick a theme for our simple cards. It’s a new month and July’s theme is “Summer”. Cards that have a represent the warmer temps and longer days…at least here in Ohio!

SIMPLY ZINNIA

I was looking at the Simply Zinnia stamp set and saw the little stars in the center of this flower! A 4th of July card came immediately to mind since that holiday is so close!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Real Red cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Blueberry Bushel cardstock was embossed with the Eyelet Embossing Folder (I felt like they looked like stars!)
Two strips of 1/4 x 5-1/4 Real Red cardstock and one 1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Basic White were adhered towards the right side in a stripe pattern.
The circle from Spotlight on Nature Dies was cut from Basic White cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The flower was stamped with Cherry Cobbler Ink and the leaves with Old Olive Ink. They were colored with Blueberry Bushel, Real Red and Poppy Parade and Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blends and cut with the Simply Zinnia Dies, then added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals. NOTE: Make sure not to color the stars in the center!
The greeting was stamped with Real Red Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock and hand-cut around the letters, it was added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of white Adhesive Backed Sequins Trio were added in the background.

Saturday Blog Hop – Peek-a-boo Cards

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Peek-a-boo cards”. We are showing different varieties of Peek-a-boo cards this week! I recently did this style of card using Softly Sophisticated stamp set for a class but thought it would be great to use for my Simply Zinnia stamp set for the blog hop!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded. The front opening was cut using the Garden Meadow arch die.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the Simply Zinnia stamp in Memento Black Ink, then colored with Poppy Parade/Bubble Bath, Calypso Coral/Pumpkin Pie, and Blackberry Bliss, Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blends for the flowers and Lemon Lime Twist/Old Olive for the stems and leaves. The layer was adhered to the inside.
The greeting from Simply Zinnia stamp set was stamped with Poppy Parade Ink on Bubble Bath cardstock and punched with the Double Oval scallop oval punch. The bottom half was adhered to the bottom flap of the front.
Two dragonflies from Dragonflies & Birds embellishments were added to the upper left corner.

SUPER simple, but I love the stitching around the arch AND I have the part I removed to use on another card! CS133 – Simply Zinnia

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme for our simple cards. This month the theme is “Birthday” cards. I am always needing birthday cards!

SIMPLY ZINNIA

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Gorgeous Grape cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was added on top.
The 4 x 5 piece of Flowering Zinnias Designer Paper was cut at an angle and added to the front (use the left-over piece for inside!)
Three flower petals from Simply Zinnia Dies (online exclusive) were cut from Gorgeous Grape cardstock and adhered together. The center and center ring were cut from Daffodil Delight and adhered to the center.
Two sets of leaves from Simply Zinnia Stamp Set were stamped with Mossy Meadow Ink on Basic White and colored with Lemon Lime Twist and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends, then cut with the Simply Zinnia Dies. The flower and leaves were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Happy Birthday greeting from Translucent Florals was stamped with Mossy Meadow Ink on 5/8 x 2 Basic White cardstock and cut with a flag end, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Three yellow Glossy Dots Assortment were added to the front.

Saturday Blog Hop – Let’s Get Sketchy

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Let’s Get Sketchy”. We are to pick a sketch and show it, along with a card that we made using that sketch idea! Here’s the sketch I chose.

SIMPLY ZINNIA

Simply Zinnia is a new stamp suite of products coming out on March 5th! Demonstrators were able to preorder and I’ve had SO much fun creating with them! I LOVE the bold colors in the DSP! I mainly used the Designer Paper and Dies on this card…except for the greeting!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Lemon Lolly cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 2-3/4 x 4-1/2 piece of Flowering Zinnias Designer Paper was added towards the right side.
A 3 x 3 piece of Basic White cardstock was added on top.
Another 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 coordinating piece of Flowering Zinnias DSP was added on top.
Then a 1/2 x 3-1/4 piece of Lemon Lolly cardstock was added across the front.
The two flower petals were cut twice for a total of four flower petals from Basic White cardstock, the center from Melon Mambo and the flower center ring from Lemon Lolly cardstock, and two leaves from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock. The flowers were adhered together and “fluffed” and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 1/2 x 2 Melon Mambo and added with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
Three Shiny Adhesive Backed Sequins were added to the background.

CCMC808 – Simply Zinnia

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. What a pretty color combination for Spring! It’s right around the corner!

SIMPLY ZINNIA

I’m having so much fun with the new online exclusive Simply Zinnia bundle…but I wanted to use these softer pastel colors on my flowers! I did cheat a little and added a little green for the stems and leaves. But I kept it a muted color green.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Flirty Flamingo cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
Two 3/4 x 5-1/2 strips of Lighter Than Air 6×6 DSP were added to the sides of the base card.
The 3 x 5-1/2 piece of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the greeting from Excellent Eggs in Flirty Famingo Ink towards the bottom.
The flower bunch from Simply Zinnia stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock, then colored with Flirty Flamingo Combo, Balmy Blue Combo, Lemon Lolly Combo and Light Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends. It was cut with the Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Some Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins were added in the background.
