Day of Gratitude – Create with Connie and Mary Challenge

October 9, 2010 By Connie | Leave a Comment

It's time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Challenge (CCMC-HM2)!  This challenge is for our subscribers to participate and earn a chance to win one of two $75 gift certificates or one of two free subscriptions to the next Edition of Create with Connie and Mary.  This week is using a color combination in Autumn Spice…Early Espresso, Old Olive, Cajun Craze and More Mustard.  I know I had fun with it…I think our Guest Designers did, too!

This week on Create with Connie and Mary, we've been focusing on French Foliage and Day of Gratitude  from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  It's not too late to join this 8 week subscription!  We are just getting started.  You'll have access to all the previous posts and tutorials long after the sesson is over!

My card started with one of my favorite new colors, Cajun Craze…just perfect for Fall!  I layered on a piece of the striped paper from Autumn Spice Designer Paper…love that it is cardstock weight!  Then I cut the leaf pattern from that same DSP and layered it on more Cajun Craze.

For the focal element, I cut Old Olive cardstock and used my Piercing Tool and Mat to pierce a line across the top and bottom.  I cut a square of Early Espresso to go on top, then some punches…the Scallop Oval from More Mustard, 1 3/8 circle of Cajun Craze, 1 1/4 circle of Confetti Cream, stamped with the leaf from Day of Gratitude.  I used the Rock n Roll technique and inked up the image in More Mustard first, then just the edges in Cajun Craze.  I love that two-tone look!  FInally, I added some Pearls on each side.  The greeting is from Grateful Greetings and stamped with Cajun Craze Classic Ink.  Pretty clean and simple card really, but the DSP makes it a wow!

Check out what the rest of our Design Team Members have done this week with the sketch challenge:

NEW is a project sheet for every project not having a tutorial!  We like to have lots of fun so we have challenges and prizes for our subscribers. Our sites stay up long after the session is done, so you will always have access to the site and the tutorials. I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 19 years and had my 18th year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!
