Flower Fest Take 100

May 13, 2011 By Connie | 7 Comments

Yes, I decided to use my BELOVED Stampin' Up! Flower Fest stamp set again.  But before I get to the details…today on Create with Connie and Mary it is our 5th and final SURPRISE GUEST DESIGNER announcement!  And remember to stop back tomorrow…the FINAL free Preview Project (mine!) will post!  I really think you'll like it!  And…EARLY BIRD PRICING ENDS TOMORROW AT 11:55 PM EST!  Don’t miss out!  With EIGHT exciting designers, we are BIGGER and BETTER than ever before!

My blog is quite over-run with all the Flower Fest samples, but it truly is an easy set to work with.  One of my customers picked hers up yesterday (hi Nancy!) and emailed me this morning to agree!

I was able to combine THREE challenges into this one card!  I had Colour Q color combination (CQ84) sitting on my desk to try.  I also had Technostamper's Sketch Challenge (TSSC173) AND SCS has a challenge today to feature words on your card.  I think I accomplished ALL of them!

And here is my card!  I love the fresh summer colors!  I needed a wedding card and this will work perfectly!

I started with a base of Daffodil Delight cardstock.  I ran thru the Crumb Cake (Kraft) layer with the Elegant Bouquet Impressions Folder and layered it on Old Olive Cardstock.  The focal greeting, I stamped Happiness Always from Happy Greetings in Not Quite Navy on Daffodil Delight and punched with the Wide Oval Punch.  I stamped two of the 5 petal images in Flower Fest with Daffodil Delight Classic Ink on Whisper White and punched them with the 5 Petal Flower Punch.  Now…you know I don't normally use unavailable products, but the Old Olive Glimmer Brads were just SCREAMING to be used on this card.  I'm REALLY, REALLY hoping these make it into the big catalog in July!  I layered the flowers with some Old Olive leaves around the greeting with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Finally, I made a bow from the Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbon and adhered it with Mini Glue Dots to the bottom of the greeting.

Really, a pretty simple card to pull together, but I love how the white flowers seem to POP off the card!

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 19 years and had my 18th year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!

You are so funny–take 100–I won't be too far behind you.  Such a fun set to work with.  I am on a bout take 100 with the Open Seas set, now moving on to this one.  Awesome card.  Thanks so much for playing along this week.  Love the embossing in the background.  Perfect match.
