GDP026 Apple of My Eye

Hmmm, isn’t it funny how sometimes the “simple” design turns out to be more difficult?  At least that is what I found with the design I came up with for the Global Design Project’s sketch today!  It was pretty clear in my head when I saw the sketch this morning, but I ended up tearing apart a couple different cards before I ended up with this one!  lol!

So…here’s my final version.  I wanted to use the Apple of My Eye stamp set and the cherry print in Cherry On Top Designer Paper for this fun flap card!

Here are the details:

• The base is 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 Whisper White.
• Along each side is a 1/2 x 5-1/2 strip of Cherry print in Cherry on Top Designer Paper.
• The Cucumber Crush center card is 3-1/2 x 11, scored at 5-1/2 and embossed on the front with the Delicate Dots Embossing Folder.
• A 2-1/2 Circle is punched from the top flap and the folded card adhered to the center of the Whisper White base.
• The stem and leaves were stamped with Cucumber Crush Ink on Whisper White, the cherries with Watermelon Wonder, then punched with the 2-1/2 Circle Punch.  Two extra leaves were stamped and cut out, then adhered to top of the existing leaves with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• Hooray for Today from Greatest Greetings was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink across the stems.
• The Whisper White circle was placed in the opening of the Cucumber Crush circle on the base card so it is adhered inside.
• Some Clear Wink of Stella was added to the cherries and the leaves for a little bling!

 

Isn’t that fun?  I used this fold in my Stamp Clubs a couple months ago and they loved it!
