Oh So Succulent & BLOG CANDY!

December 12, 2016 By Connie | 27 Comments

Hurray!  I’ve finally had a chance to use my new preorder products.  With my dad having quadruple bypass surgery unexpectedly last week, I have been back and forth to the hospital.

But…today I get to share a card I made with the awesome new set, Oh So Succulent and matching Succulent Framelits!  It is also my turn to offer the Create with Connie and Mary HOLIDAY BLOG CANDY.  Just LEAVE A COMMENT TODAY (Monday, 12/12) here on  my blog and you will be entered into a drawing for my Blog Candy – a free subscription to Create with Connie and Mary December Mini Edition featuring projects using products in the OCCASIONS and SALE-A-BRATIONS catalogs!  Isn’t that exciting?

oh-so-succulent
Here are the details…

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Garden Green cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded to form base card.
  • On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, a 1-1/2 x 4 strip of Succulent Garden Designer Paper was placed along the bottom.
  • A 1/2 x 4 strip of Garden Green cardstock was placed across to hide the seam.
  • A piece of 1/8″ Gold Ribbon was added over the strip and adhered to the back to secure.
  • The succulents from Oh So Succulent Stamp Set were stamped with Calypso Coral, Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz and Sweet Sugarplum Inks on scrap Whisper White and cut with the Succulents Framelits.  They were added to the top of the Whisper White layer.
  • The greeting from Oh So Succulents was stamped with Garden Green Ink under the succulents.
  • Some Gold Sequins were added to the front for a little bling!

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 19 years and had my 18th year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!

I love the “Oh, So Succulent” bundle and matching DSP and how you used it here on this card for the blog hop. Only a bit less than three weeks until we can use your inspiration with these new stamps! Thanks for sharing!!! -Donna

So sorry to hear about your father, hope he recovers fast and has a full recovery. My FIL had 2 stents put in the week of Thanksgiving and he is going great at age 87.

Pretty card today. I really like the Garden Green with the Calypso Coral with the sweet touch of the Pear Pizzaz and Sweet Sugarplum. The stamp set is fun too. Great birthday card.

Great card! I have not seen the new catalogues as yet, but I have heard the Succulent suite referred to in some of the blogs. My initial thoughts were – well, there is one stamp set/framelit/paper stack I won’t be tempted by! (I usually like flowers, or soft, cuddly stamping, and “succulent” conjured up visions of flower-less, prickly cacti.) But your card at least stated me thinking in another direction – I will have to wait until I actually see the catalogue. Sending Best Wishes and Blessings to your father, and your family.
