Work of Art Snowman

December 23, 2014 By Connie | 8 Comments

This is my second post of today…don’t miss out on the YEAR END CLEARANCE SALE I posted earlier.  Stampin’ Up! added LOTS of new things to the sale, including some great greeting sets and items from the Holiday Catalog!   You can see it HERE!  There is a BONUS gift certificate for the person who pushes me over for the quarterly bonus this month!

The moment I saw this snowman using Stampin’ Up!’s Work of Art stamp set on Pinterest, I knew I had to re-create it.   I ran out of Christmas cards I used this year, so thought it was perfect to make up some more and do this card idea!  Unfortunately, the artist didn’t have a watermark on her photo, so I’m not sure who to credit the idea…but it is SO clever!  I changed it up a little by adding the greeting and used the snowflake in the Snowflake Card Thinlet for his scarf to keep it flat and mailable.  Isn’t he CUTE?

And here is a shot of them all ready to go!

Work of Art Snowman 2

OK…even my husband commented that they were REALLY cute!  I was happy that they were really SIMPLE to make!  I’m fast running out of time until Christmas and still have a LOT to do!  Some quick details although you probably don’t need them!  lol!

  • The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Garden Green, folded in half.
  • The Whisper White layer is 4 x 5 1/4.
  • All images are from Stampin’ Up!’s Work of Art stamp set (except greeting).  I stamped the hat with Garden Green ink.  Eyes and Mouth with Tuxedo Black Ink, heart nose with Pumpkin Pie ink, scarf with Real Red ink.
  • The greeting from Petite Pairs was stamped with Real Red Ink.
  • I cut the snowflake for the scarf from Silver Glimmer Paper with the Snowflake Card Thinlet Die and added it to the scarf with a Mini Glue Dot.

That’s it!  I did decorate the inside, too…but forgot to photograph it before I mailed them.  Oops!

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 20 years and will have my 19th year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!
