Today we are back with our normal Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. This time we have an awesome sketch for you all to try, CCMC149! I must say…I LOVE my card made with it! The Challenge Team has come up with some awesome ideas, too!
I decided to use one of the sets we are featuring over on Create with Connie and Mary this week, Stampin' Up!'s Flower Fest!
Of course, part of the reason I love this card is the awesome Nursery Suite Designer Paper in the background. I took my colors from it. The base of the card is Regal Rose. I layered on Baja Breeze that I ran thru the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Folder. I added the piece of Nursery Suite DSP and rounded the corners on one edge. I added a strip of Old Olive cardstock that I used the Tasteful Trim Die for the large scallops. I wrapped around the Whisper White Stripe Organdy Ribbon and tied a knot.
I made a background panel with Whisper White layered on Early Espresso cardstock. Then on scrap Whisper White, I stamped the stem and leaves in Old Olive ink and the flower three times with Regal Rose ink. I punched out the largest flower with the 2 3/8 Scallop Circle Punch and then cutting out different sizes for the two smaller flowers layered on top. I used my Stampin' Write Markers in Old Olive, Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose to lightly color in the flower and leaves. In the center I added an Old Olive flower button with a Pearl Jewel in the center. Finally, I inked one Hello word from Stampin' Up!'s stamp set Happy Greetings with the Old Olive marker and stamped it on Whisper White, then cut it out. I placed it with a Stampin' Dimensional in between the layers of the flower.
Why not try the sketch for yourself! Go to Create with Connie and Mary, check out the rest of the design team creations, then make your own. Upload it to Create with Connie and Mary.
