Easter Blossoms

Stamping 411 has another fun sketch for you to try this week! Although, I must admit that I was stumped for a little bit! I'm not used to seeing a trio of elements set up this way! I'll be VERY interested in seeing what my fellow Operators have done this week. And, of course, I'll be slapping my forehead wondering why I didn't think to do that!

I wanted to use Stampin' Up!'s Easter Blossoms in a little different way. I hadn't inked up the egg yet in that stamp set, so decided to use it for my focal piece(s)!

I started by pulling out the colors (mostly) from the Sale-a-bration Ice Cream Parlor Ribbon and stamped the egg in Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo on Whisper White cardstock. I punched them with the Scallop Square punch. I placed them on a piece of Ice Cream Parlor Designer Paper with Stampin' Dimensionals and trimmed the DSP so that the flowery vine was across the bottom for a little more interest. The ribbon was wrapped around and tied with the Happy Easter tag greeting. I used the Decorative Label punch in Daffodil Delight cardstock with the greeting in Basic Black. I added a little bling with a trio of Rhinestones under the greeting. It is also placed on the DSP with Stampin' Dimensionals. I used the Crop-a-Dile to punch the hole for the tag.

The DSP was layered on Whisper White and then on the base card of Marina Mist. I like how the white layer makes everything POP a little more! Finally, I placed more Rhinestone jewels in the center of each egg for a little extra bling. I think it turned out to be a pretty FUN card!

Easter Blossoms

You know when you have a thought in your head that you think will work…but it doesn't come out how you imagined it? That's what happened with this card! Although it wasn't what I originally had in mind, I liked how it turned out.

On this card, I started by stamping the cherry blossom branch from Easter Blossoms with Early Espresso Classic Ink on Springtime Vintage Designer Paper. Then I used a White Gel Pen to color in the blossoms…it is a very cool look! I distressed the edges with the Distressing Tool, curled the corners and then layered it on Early Espresso cardstock. I distressed the edges of it, too!

I ran the Soft Suede thru the Big Shot with the Finial Press Impressions Folder and rubbed on Early Espresso Classic Ink on the raised areas. I placed it on a base card of Blushing Bride cardstock. I added a strip of Rose Red cardstock. I made a bow of Very Vanilla 3/8 Taffeta Ribbon and put a Vintage Brad in the center and added it to the front with Mini Glue Dots. Finally, I added You're A Gem from the You're A Gem stamp set, stamped with Early Espresso Classic Ink.

Springtime Petal Cone

Yes…still wishing for spring! lol! We've started Week #3 over on Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Edition and this week we are featuring the Springtime Vintage Suite series in the Occasions Mini, including Baby Blossoms, Build A Blossom, Thanks for Caring, Baby Blossoms, Easter Blossoms and the Springtime Vintage Designer Paper and accessories! My Club Members made this Petal Cone last month at our Club Meeting and since it fits the theme, I thought I'd show it to you this week! It is hard to see from this view, but I stamped the Cherry Blossoms branch from Easter Blossoms Stamp Set randomly with Baja Breeze Classic Ink on the Baja Breeze Cardstock after running it thru the Big Shot with the Petal Cone Die (you need to cut TWO of these to make the cone). The scallop crescent piece under the flap is also from the Petal Cone Die and I cut two of them with Very Vanilla cardstock to place under the flaps at the front and back.

Then I used the Fun Flowers Die and Springtime Vintage Designer Paper to make the medium sized flower and Very Vanilla cardstock for the small flower. I ran the small Very Vanilla Flower back thru the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder. The center was cut from Baja Breeze on the Fun Flowers die, too, then I added a Vanilla Rosette with a Pearl in the center of it! Lots of little details! I placed the flower on the front of the cone with Stampin' Dimensionals. I used Very Vanilla 3/8 Taffeta Ribbon to make the hanger, punching the sides with the Crop-A-Dile, then tying the knots on the inside.

Finally, I stamped Sending Springtime Smiles in Not Quite Navy Classic Ink on Very Vanilla and punched with the Large Oval Punch and layered on the Not Quite Navy Scallop Oval Punch. Isn't it pretty? I love how it turned out! Fill it with candy or potpourri for a very nice gift!
