It’s a new month and we have a new Creatively Simple theme for August!  “The Mister” is for celebrating all the males in your life!

FOOTBALL FAN

I just know I’m going to get a LOT of mileage out of this set!  Here’s another card for my OSU Buckeye fans!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of A Wonderful  Match DSP was added on top.
  • A 1-3/4 x 4 piece of Poppy Parade cardstock was added to the left side.
  • The Party Banner was cut from Smoky Slate cardstock and stamped with the greeting from Football Fans in Basic Black Ink.  It was added to the center.
  • The football was stamped with Basic Black Ink on Pecan Pie cardstock and the helmet on Basic Gray cardstock.  They were hand-cut.  Some White Gel Pen were added for details.
  • The little Block O is a decal sticker I had, but I thought it added a little more detail and I couldn’t resist.  Sorry, it isn’t Stampin’ Up!
  • A trio of silver Adhesive Backed Metallic Gems were added to the banner background.

CS257 – Match Day

It’s a new month and we have a new Creatively Simple theme for August!  This one is for all the males in our life!  I find that making masculine cards is a little harder…so I’m always happy to see sports themed stamps!

MATCH DAY

Unfortunately, the English Match Day stamps are already sold out, but you still can get lots of mileage out of the Dies and the DSP!  The net could be for soccer, lacrosse, hockey…and the trophy for any sport!   Since Stampin’ Up! just introduced the Football Fan stamp set, I used one of the greetings from it to go with the Match Day Dies and DSP!

I loved the layout I did for last week’s sunflower card, so I used it again today…looks totally different, doesn’t it?

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Smoky Slate cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 3-1/4 x 4-3/4 piece of A Wonderful Match DSP was added in the center.
  • A coordinating 1-1/4 x 4 piece of A Wonderful Match DSP was added across the top.
  • The circle from the Match Day Dies was cut from Smoky Slate cardstock and added towards the left side with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The trophy from the Match Day Dies was cut from Gold Foil Paper and added over the circle.
  • Time to Celebrate from Football Fan stamp set was stamped with Garden Green Ink on Basic White and cut the end at an angle.  It was tucked next to the trophy.
  • A trio of gold Adhesive Backed Metallic Gems were added to the background.

It’s Thursday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends challenge!  The July month of challenges are some of my favorites!  Each week we will be using a sample card from the current Stampin’ Up! catalog and recreating it using either the layout, the colors, or a combination of both!

FOOTBALL FAN

I don’t have any of my grandkids playing football, so I wasn’t really sure I “needed” this stamp set!  It’s one of the stand-alone sets in the July Online Exclusive offerings!  BUT…then I remembered that I DO have a TON of avid Ohio State football fans in the family!  I knew I could use it for some birthday cards!  It was perfect for this challenge!  PLUS, the greetings could be used for any sport!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Smoky Slate cardstock was added on front.
  • A 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was added to the center.
  • The 3 x 4- piece of Smoky Slate was layered with alternating 1/2 x 3 strips of Poppy Parade cardstock to create the background.
  • The football player was stamped with Basic Black Hybrid Ink and colored with Smoky Slate, Poppy Parade, Pecan Pie and Ivory Stampin’ Blends.  It was hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting was stamped with Smoky Slate Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the Stylish Shapes Die.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The pennant was stamped with Poppy Parade Ink on Basic White cardstock and hand-cut, then added to a 1/8″ strip of Basic Black, then tucked under the circle using a Stampin’ Dimensional.
  • A trio of black Wonderful Stars Puffy Stickers were added to the background.
