Saturday Blog Hop – Repetitive Backgrounds

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop.  This week’s theme is “Repetitive Backgrounds!”  We could use words or images that are repeated.

MATCH DAY

I love this bundle!  I’m hoping we get a bunch of sports themes like this (hockey, lacrosse, basketball, baseball, gymnastics)…and my customers are wanting pickleball stamps!  I used one of the greetings for my repetitive background!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Granny Apple Green cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Smoky Slate cardstock was stamped randomly with the Match Day greeting in Smoky Slate Ink in the background.
  • A 2 x 4 strip of A Wonderful Match DSP was added towards the bottom.
  • The uniform shirt and #1 was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and the trim colored with Light Shaded Spruce and Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends over it to get the Garden Green color.  It was cut with the Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The soccer ball was cut from Basic Black cardstock with the Die and adhere to Basic White 1-3/8″ circle (or trim around the ball itself).  It was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The whistle was cut with the die from Silver Foil.  Some black Baker’s Twine was added to the end and tied in a knot, then adhered to the front with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional and a Mini Glue Dot for the twine.
  • A trio of black Moody Palette Glossy Dots were added to the background.

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop. For the next several weeks we will be “Casing the Designer”. Each week we have picked a designer and will select a card she designed. We will use the Colors or Layout of her design and recreate our version using NEW stamps/bundles or DSP!  For our next “Case the Designer” week we are “Casing Melissa Davies”!

Here’s the card I selected from her blog:

MATCH DAY

I figured the soccer themed Match Day bundle would work great to replicate the layout of Melissa’s card and chose the Columbus Crew colors of yellow and black!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 2 x 5-1/2 strip of A Wonderful Match DSP was added towards the right side.
  • The goal net was cut with the die from Basic Beige cardstock and adhered towards the bottom.
  • The grass was cut with the die from Granny Apple Green and adhered at the bottom of the net.
  • The uniform shirt was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Crushed Curry and cut with the Die, then added to the net with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Match Day was stamped with VersaMark on 1/2 x 3 Basic Black cardstock and then embossed with White Embossing Powder.  It was punched with the Three Banner Punch, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of small, black Wonderful Stars Puffy Stickers were added to the shirt and the background.

And here is the card that I recreated using her layout and the Match Day Bundle and DSP!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 layer of Azure Afternoon was added on top.
  • The A Wonderful Match DSP was cut to 3-3/4 x 5 and added to the Azure Afternoon cardstock.
  • The Stitched Shapes circle was cut from Azure Afternoon cardstock and adhered to the front, flat.
  • The trophy was cut from Silver Foil Paper and added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The flag was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Poppy Parade and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.  It was cut with the Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The soccer ball detail was cut from Basic Black cardstock and adhered to Basic White cardstock, then hand-cut around the circle shape.  It was added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting was omit stamped with Azure Afternoon Ink on Basic White cardstock, then trimmed to read Biggest Fan.  The end was cut at an angle.  It was added on top of the soccer ball, flat.

It’s Thursday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends challenge!  We have a fun sketch today!

MATCH DAY

I was SO happy to see this bundle in the new Online Exclusives preorder (coming in March for customers!)  I have two grandchildren who play soccer and I know I’ll get a lot of use out of it!  Plus, it is a great set for kids or any age sports enthusiast!  AND…I can use the net for my lacrosse and hockey players, too!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Granny Apple Green cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White is added on top.
  • The A Wonderful Match tag sheet was cut (the top tag portion cut off, too) and added to the background (love that stripe!)
  • The 1/2 x 5 strip of Garden Green cardstock was cut with a banner end, then adhered across the front.
  • The soccer ball was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the Die.  It was added to the DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The goal net was cut from Gray Granite cardstock with the die and added to a 2-3/8 x 4 piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock.  The top corners were clipped at an angle.  It was added to the front over the soccer ball with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The grass was cut from Granny Apple Green using the Die, then added under the goal net.
  • The greeting was stamped with Shaded Spruce Ink in the upper right corner.
  • A trio of black Wonderful Stars Puffy Stickers were added to the goal net.
