CSF Saturday Blog Hop – Halloween Time

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop.  This is our second week of Halloween card ideas!  Since there are limited Halloween stamps this year, I decided to make some spooky trees with the Frosted Forest Dies!

PLAYFUL GHOSTS & FROSTED FOREST

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Gorgeous Grape cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of pumpkin polka dot Halloween Spells 12×12 Designer Paper (Online Exclusive) was added on top.
  • Another 2-1/4 x 5 piece of stripe Halloween Spells DSP was cut into a banner and added over the DSP.
  • The Stylish Shapes Circle was cut from Basic White cardstock and Blending Brushes used with Gorgeous Grape, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Inks to make the sky.
  • The trees from Frosted Forest Dies were cut from Basic Black and added to the circle.
  • The bat from Playful Ghosts was stamped on the circle with Memento Black Ink.  The circle was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Playful Ghosts was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Gorgeous Grape cardstock and cut with the circle in Stylish Shapes Dies, it was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Black Sparkle Dots were added in the background.

Welcome to Create with Stamping Friends Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Debbie and I will pick a theme for our simple cards.  It’s the first Tuesday of the month and our August theme is “Scenic”.  Stampin’ Up! has a LOT of scenic type images in their line-up so this should be fun!

FROSTED FOREST

I really like this Frosted Forest Bundle (Online Exclusive), especially since it includes the MASKS in the bundle price!  Masks make it very easy to color.  On this card, however, the stark look of the black die-cuts against the Thoughtful Journey Designer Paper really pops!  And NO stamping…except the greeting!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Lost Lagoon cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pretty Peacock was embossed with the Painted Texture Embossing Folder (Online Exclusive)
  • The Thoughtful Journey Designer Paper was cut with the Deckled Circle Die and added towards the left on the front of the Pretty Peacock layer, cutting off the excess.
  • The tree silhouette and bird images were cut with the dies from Basic Black cardstock and adhered to the circle.
  • Some black Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack was wrapped around the Lost Lagoon layer and adhered in the back.
  • The greeting was stamped on 5/8 x 1-3/4 piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock with Memento Black Ink and added over the twine with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s inspiration challenge we are celebrating the 4th of July holiday in the United States!

FROSTED FOREST

Love this fun patriotic picnic decor!  I’m using the new Frosted Forest Bundle (online exclusive) for my card today to show that trees don’t have to be just green!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • Two 3/4 x 5-1/4 pieces of Mediterranean Blooms Designer Paper were blended with Poppy Parade Ink.
  • The 3 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was stamped with three trees in Memento Black Ink spaced across the front.
  • Using Mask A, the left tree was colored with Poppy Parade Ink and the right tree with Blueberry Bushel Ink using Blending Brushes.
  • The colored of Mediterranean Blooms DSP was added to each long side of the Basic White and added to the front of the card.
  • Celebrate and the star cluster from the Wanted to Say Dies were cut from Poppy Parade and Blueberry Bushel cardstocks. Celebrate was adhered together, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The stars were cut apart and then added around the trees with Monoadhesive Glue.
  • A trio of Rhinestone Jewels were added to the background.
