I needed a quick Sympathy card, so made up a few of these for my stash. I love these colors together! Raspberry Ripple, Basic Black, and Naturals White cardstock!

A few details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Naturals White cardstock. I like that it is a little thicker for the base than Whisper White.
Layer on a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Raspberry Ripple cardstock, embossed with the Honeycomb Folder.
I stamped the flower from Love & Sympathy on 2 1/4 x 4 piece of Naturals White cardstock, coloring it with the Raspberry Ripple and Always Artichoke Markers directly onto the stamp.
I layered it on a 2 1/2 x 4 1/4 piece of Basic Black cardstock, then tied a knot in the Raspberry Ripple Satin Stitched Ribbon and adhered the ends behind the Basic Black layer.
I added the greeting with Basic Black ink on the front.
Finally, a touch of bling with a small pearl at the base of the flower.

Pretty, elegant and very easy to make!

Love & Sympathy Take 2

No, you aren't seeing double vision (or double posts) even though it IS April Fool's Day! I used the same elements that I used on yesterday's card HERE to make up another one in a different style. Isn't it amazing how you can use the same stamps and accessories, but make it look different just by placement of the elements? The only thing I added was the Polka Dot Parade DSP. I used a beautiful sketch from last week's The Paper Players…too bad I didn't get this done in time to upload it over there!

Here are the details for this card:

The 4 1/4 x 11 base of Pumpkin Pie is folded in half.
I cut a strip of Always Artichoke cardstock with the Finishing Touches edgelit and adhered it behind the 1 x 5 1/2" piece of Polka Dot Parade Designer Paper, then adhered that along the right edge of the base card.
I cut a 2 5/8 x 3 7/8 piece of First Edition paper, then stamped the flowers inked up with my Always Artichoke and Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Markers several times. I also stamped just the flower a couple times on scrap Very Vanilla, cut them out and randomly placed them to fill in a little more. This was adhered to a 2 3/4 x 4 piece of Always Artichoke cardstock.
I wrapped the Crumb Cake Seam Binding around and tied a knot, then placed this element on the front of the card.
I stamped the greeting in Always Artichoke on Crumb Cake and punched with the Decorative Label punch, then popped it up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
The Bitty Butterflies were punched from Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant, then added the trio of Pearls for their bodies.

Well, I need to get cracking! I have to make up 20 swaps for tonight's downline meeting. AND I need to review my taxes one more time, then get them ready to go. That's a pretty big order for today! lol! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Today's card uses a stamp set, Love & Sympathy, that I haven't used in a long time! I also hadn't used the First Edition Designer Paper in a while…so I combined the two of them! I also love these colors today…Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder!

Here are the details:

The base of the card is 4 1/4 x 11 Pumpkin Pie, folded in half. I embossed the front with the Delicate Designs Folder along the bottom.
I cut a 4 x 4 1/2 piece of First Edition Designer Paper and stamped the flower on it using my Pumpkin Pie and Always Artichoke Stampin' Write Markers several times. I also stamped and cut out just a couple of the flower heads to give it more fullness.
At the bottom of the First Edition, I added a strip of Very Vanilla, cut with the Finishing Touches Edgelit.
I tied a pretty bow and wrapped the Crumb Cake Seam Binding ends around to the back to secure.
I stamped the Love & Sympathy greeting with Always Artichoke on Crumb Cake, then punched with the Decorative Label punch and tucked it under the top of the bow.
I punched the Bitty Butterfly punch with Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant cardstock and adhered to the front with Mini Glue Dots. I added a trio of Pearls for the butterfly bodies and at the base of each flower bud.

Love & Sympathy

One thing I do at the stamping retreat weekend is make up a few sympathy cards to have on hand to send out. This was a very simple style to make, but I think has a dramatic look with the Basic Black, Whisper White and Crumb Cake color scheme.

I used Crumb Cake as my base and the Perfect Polka Dots folder on the front. I stamped the flower image from Stampin' Up!'s Love & Sympathy stamp set in Basic Black a couple times on the left, then the sympathy verse on the upper right side. The Whisper White is layered on Basic Black and that panel is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals. Very simple and understated…just like I think a sympathy card should be. Thanks for looking!
