CSF Saturday Blog Hop – Latch Cards

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop. It’s a new month and we will be doing fun-fold cards! This week’s challenge is Latch Cards…something that has a mechanism to help keep it closed!

MAGNOLIA MOOD

The first thing I picked out to make this card was the Wildly Flowering Designer Paper…it is SO pretty! The colors and stamp set were chosen from there. Next was the closing mechanism…the Something Fancy Die worked for the Magnolia Mood greeting size…and adding the small flower in Magnolia Mood worked perfectly on this Angled Gate Fold card!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 11 Moody Mauve cardstock, scored at 3-3/8 and 7-5/8.
Along both sides, I placed a small pencil dot at the 1-1/2 mark. At 1″ from each bottom corner, I added another pencil dot. The angles were cut with my Stampin’ Trimmer.
I embossed only the left angled side with the Eyelet Embossing Folder.
I cut the Wildly Flowering DSP at 3-1/8 x 5-1/4 and repeated the pencil marks and cut angles with the same measurements as above for the layer on the right side (repeat if you want DSP on the left side, too, just make sure your directional patterns line up correctly.)
I stamped the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock with the small magnolia flower in Mossy Meadow Ink and colored with Dark Soft Sea Foam, Light Bubble Bath and Light Moody Mauve Stampin’ Blends. I adhered the layer to the inside.

I created the latching mechanism by cutting the Something Fancy Label Die from Basic White cardstock and stamped the Magnolia Mood greeting with Moody Mauve Ink.
I stamped another small Magnolia Mood flower with Mossy Meadow ink on scrap Basic White cardstock and colored with the same Blends as above. It was cut with the Magnolia Mood Dies.
I add Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back left side of the label and the flower, then added them to the left angled panel on front. I made sure the right panel would slide under the mechanism and hold the card closed.

A trio of blue In Color Sparkle Dots were added to the background and label.

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge. We have a sketch for inspiration this week!

MAGNOLIA MOOD

Another card that came together easily with little stamping! Of course, you could substitute the stamped magnolia and color it, too! After I photographed this, I added “90” cut with the Alphabet Al A Mode Dies to the front and sent it off to my aunt for her birthday!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Night of Navy cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded to form the base card.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Petunia Pop cardstock was added to the front.
A 1-3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Mediterranean Blooms Designer Paper was cut at an angle and added to the front.
The 3/4 x 5-1/4 strip of the small grid pattern in Mediterranean Blooms DSP was colored with the Petunia Pop Ink using a Blending Brush and added on top of the medallion print.
The 1 x 1-1/2 piece of Night of Navy cardstock was cut at a flag end and tucked under the angled DSP.
The circle was cut from Boho Blue cardstock using the Spotlight on Nature Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The magnolia was cut from Basic White cardstock using the Magnolia Mood Die and added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting was stamped with Night of Navy Ink on scrap Petunia Pop cardstock and hand-cut around the letters, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of 2024-26 In Color Shimmer Gems were added to the background for a little bling!

Welcome to Create with Stamping Friends Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Debbie and I will pick a theme for our simple cards. This month the theme is “Nature” cards. Stampin’ Up! has so many great sets for this category!

MAGNOLIA MOOD

It’s official, I think. Petunia Pop is my favorite new In Color. I seem to grab it each time I make a card! This card looks difficult, but it is SOOO easy! Perfect for our Creatively Simple Nature theme! This is an updated color version of the card my Stamp Club did in April!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Petunia Pop cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The small bloom image was stamped randomly around the edge on front with Petunia Pop Ink for a tone-on-tone effect.
The new Thoughtful Journey DSP was cut with the Deckled Rectangles Die and added to a layer of 3-1/8 x 4-1/2 Basic White cardstock, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The magnolia was cut from Basic White cardstock with the Magnolia Mood Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added at the base of the flower.
The greeting from Magnolia Mood was stamped with Petunia Pop Ink on Pretty In Pink cardstock and hand-cut around the letters, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Saturday Blog Hop – Warmer Weather

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Warmer Weather”…something to represent spring! I know I’m SO ready for warm weather around here! And the magnolia trees blooming really indicates spring and warmer weather to me!

MAGNOLIA MOOD

I can’t decide which new In Color I like best!!! I flip flop between Petunia Pop and Peach Pie! Here I’m using Peach Pie on the magnolia.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Petal Pink cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Peach Pie cardstock was embossed with the Eyelet Embossing Folder and added to the front.
The magnolia bloom was stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Petal Pink Combo, Dark Lemon Lolly, Light Peach Pie, Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. It was cut with the Magnolia Blooms Dies and added to the front.
The greeting was stamped towards the right of a 1 x 3-3/4 piece of Basic White cardstock with Memento Black Ink. and added to the front.
A 1/2 x 3=1/2 piece of Meandering Meadow 6×6 Designer Paper was added under the greeting.
A trio of Shiny Adhesive Backed Sequins were added next to the greeting and in the background.

CS136 – Magnolia Mood

MAGNOLIA MOOD

I thought this one image looked like a seed pod or flower bud, so created this card and made my own “DSP”.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pecan Pie cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Very Vanilla cardstock was stamped randomly along the edges with the Magnolia Mood pod/bud image in Pecan Pie Ink.
The single leaf was stamped randomly to fill in with Crushed Curry Ink.
The greeting from Magnolia Mood stamp set was stamped with Pecan Pie on 3/4 x 3-1/2 and the right side torn. It was layered on a 1/4 x 4 piece of Pecan Pie cardstock also torn on the right side.
Some Linen Thread was wrapped a couple times in a loop, and adhered to the front. The greeting was added over it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Pecan Pie Opaque Ovals were added in the background.

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges. This week’s inspiration challenge is a pretty decorated cake!

MAGNOLIA MOOD

My order with this Magnolia Mood Bundle just arrived a couple days ago and I couldn’t wait to use it on this challenge!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Copper Clay cardstock was embossed with the Timber Embossing Folder and added to the front.
A 3-1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of Vellum Basics leaf print was added to the front.
The flower and two leaves were stamped with Mossy Meadow Ink on Basic White cardstock, then the leaves colored with Light Shaded Spruce Blends, the flower edges with Light Soft Sea Foam Blends and the center with Light Wild Wheat Blends. They were cut with the Magnolia Mood Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 1-1/4 x 3 piece of Crushed Curry cardstock and the end cut at an angle.
A trio of yellow Glossy Dots were added to the background.
Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added under the flower.
