Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s inspiration is a beautiful door threshold!

SOPHISTICATED SLED

I created some faux doors to hold my wreaths from the Sophisticated Sled stamp set!  The two-tone cardstock is so fun to emboss and sand so the white core shows up!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 3-3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Reindeer Memories 12×12 Two Tone Cardstock was embossed with the Birch Wood Embossing Folder and sanded.  Some Crumb Cake Ink was brushed around to darken the edges and create some highlights.  It was cut in half lengthwise and added to the front of the base card.
  • Two Sophisticated Sled wreaths were stamped with Mossy Meadow ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Light Old Olive and Dark Real Red Stampin’ Blends.  They were cut with the Sophisticated Sled Dies and added to the front “door” with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The Sophisticated Sled greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 1 x 3 Crumb Cake cardstock and the ends cut like a flag.
  • Two bows were made with the Black & Vanilla Large Check Ribbon and added to the wreaths with Mini Glue Dots.

CSF Saturday Blog Hop – Zig Zag Folds

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop. For the month of August, we will be doing fun-folds!  This week’s challenge is Zig Zag folds…as unique as possible!  There are SO many different varieties it will be interesting to see what our Design Team does with this challenge!

SOPHISTICATED SLED

I picked the easy Zig Zag Gatefold card to make!  This fold is a great way to use up your designer paper stash!  Just changing up the designer paper will make it look totally different!  Just make sure that you get your directional paper going the correct way!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 12 Season of Green & Gold 12 x 12 Designer Paper (Online Exclusive), scored at 2, 4, 8 and 10.
  • I marked at the 3-1/2 point on each shorter side, then cut from the 4 and 8 score lines to that mark on a diagonal.  Then from the mark to the 2 and 10 scorelines across the bottom.
  • A 3-3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the inside greeting in Real Red Ink and the wreath with Mossy Meadow Ink.  It was colored with Light Soft Sea Foam, Light Old Olive and Light Crumb Cake with Light Real Red berries.  The panel was added inside the base card.
  • A circle was cut from Soft Sea Foam with the Everyday Details Dies and added to the left side flap with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The skates were cut from Basic White, laces from Real Red, blades from Metallic Gold, and the greenery from Mossy Meadow cardstocks and assembled.
  • Some Natural Tones Linen Thread was wrapped over the greenery and behind the skates, then the skates added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the greenery adhered flat.
  • The trio Cherry Cobbler & Pearl Adhesive Backed Berries was added to the greenery.
  • Good Tidings from Sophisticated Sled stamp set was stamped with Real Red on a 3/8 x 2 piece of Basic White cardstock and added with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
