Saturday Blog Hop – Pumpkin Spice

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Pumpkin Spice”…cards with pumpkins on them!

AUTUMN LEAVES

This is one of the cards my Stamp Clubs did last month!  I don’t normally show the cards they make in class, but I loved how this one turned out, so I thought I’d share since it fit the theme this week.  I’m on a binge about making these “wood” looking pumpkins from the Countryside Corners Dies!  Thanks to Libby Fens for the idea of adding the embossed stripes!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Copper Clay cardstock, score at 5-1/2 and fold to form base card.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Mossy Meadow cardstock was stamped with the double leaf and Mossy Meadow Ink along the edges.
  • A 2 x 4 piece of All About Autumn Designer Paper was added across the front.
  • The 2-1/2 x 4 piece of Very Vanilla was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The pumpkin was cut from Pumpkin Pie cardstock using the Countryside Corners Die and embossed with the Stripes Embossing Folder.  The edges were sponged with Cajun Craze Ink, then the raised ridges were sponged with White Craft Ink direct to paper.
  • The stem was hand-cut from Pecan Pie cardstock.
  • The leaf from Autumn Leaves was cut from All About Autumn DSP.  All were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 3/4 x 2-3/4 piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock, cut a flat end and adhered to the pumpkin.
  • A trio of Adhesive Backed Speckled Dots were added to the background and the greeting.

IM300 – Autumn Leaves

Welcome back to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges.  We have some pretty yarn to inspire you!

 

 

AUTUMN LEAVES

I wasn’t worried if I got all five colors on my card, but I managed!  And I think this card turned out so TOTALLY cool!  I wanted to replicate the wood squared off pumpkins I have been seeing everywhere…and the Countryside Corners Dies worked perfectly!  I did a simple technique to give the pumpkins a more rustic look using Whisper White Craft Ink!

Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Mossy Meadow cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded to form the base card.
    • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Very Vanilla cardstock was added on front and the greeting from Autumn Leaves stamped with Blackberry Bliss Ink in the upper right corner.
    • Three sizes of pumpkins were cut with the Countryside Corners Dies from Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze and Lost Lagoon cardstock.  They were sponged with the same colors ink and the Pumpkin Pie pumpkin had some Cajun Craze added, too.  Then I used the edge of the Whisper White Craft Pad and ran it along the length of each pumpkin in “stripes”.  Cool effect!
    • The stems were hand-cut from Copper Clay cardstock and adhered behind the pumpkins that were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • The leaves were cut from Mossy Meadow, Blackberry Bliss and Pumpkin Pie cardstocks with the Autumn Leaves Dies and added to the base of the pumpkins.
    • Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the large pumpkin with a Mini Glue Dot.
