CCMC207 – Patio Party DSP

June 21, 2012 By Connie | 9 Comments

Hmmm, another card without much stamping.  I see a pattern here…really, though, I do LOVE to stamp!  The Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge this week just seem to scream "USE DESIGNER PAPER!" to me!  lol!  As for the unique sketch…you can blame Mary on that…she does our challenge templates…and I thought it looked simple when she first showed it to me.  However, it challenged me…but I'm sure when I see YOUR cards, I'll say…why didn't I think of that?  Can't wait to see!

So here is what I ended up with…

The base is Midnight Muse cardstock and I layered on Summer Starfruit…taking my colors from the Patio Party Designer Paper.  On the Whisper White panel, I added the cupcakes strip of Designer Paper diagonally across the card.  Then I added the Midnight Muse strip of cardstock.  To hide the seam, I cut the Summer Starfruit cardstock with the Finishing Touches Edgelit!  Isn't that fun looking?  And it DOES add that finishing touch!

I stamped So Many Candles…from Bring on the Cake stamp set.  Then I added a little pinwheel that I made from a 1" square punch and dark blue mini brad for the center!  Isn't that CUTE!!!  I thought it was a nice touch!  lol!

Make sure to check out what the rest of the Design Team did this week over on Create with Connie and Mary.  And, we have a new Challenge Team member for you to meet!

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 19 years and had my 18th year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!

Connie, I love this card and  all your inspirations. What a talent!
I have tried to use this Edgelit Finishing Touches but all the little pieces are stuck in my die. In the die itself! The next run I had a time punching those lacy pieces out of the cardstock.
Try as I might I can't get them out. How were you so successful?
    Thanks!
    Mary
