CCMC620 – Pampered Pets

Hello Thursday!  It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  This month we are doing “Case the Catalog” cards!  We have one of the catalog samples as inspiration and can use the layout, the colors or overall design to make our challenge card.  I used the layout (and know I’ll be using it again in the future!)

PAMPERED PETS

I went back and forth on whether or not to get the Pampered Pets Suite.  Since I’m more of a cat person, I love that they have both dog and cat images in the set!  Glad I did get it…so fun!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Flirty Flamingo cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Playful Pets Designer Paper was added for the background.
  • Two large stitched squares were cut from Flirty Flamingo and Real Red with the Stitched Shapes Dies.
  • The Playful Pets Trim was wrapped around the Flirty Flamingo square and tied in a bow, then added to the front.  The Real Red square was added on top.
  • The greeting from Pampered Pets was stamped with Memento Black Ink and cut with the second smallest Stitched Shape Oval.  It was added on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The cat from Pampered Pets was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock and colored with Crumb Cake Combo Blends, the ears and cheeks with Light Flirty Flamingo Blends.  It was cut with the Pet Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The mouse was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock, colored with Light Smoky Slate Blends and hand-cut, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A Trio of Red Rhinestones were added to the background.

Stamp a bunch of violets quickly with the line-drawn images in Stampin' Up!'s FRAMED VIOLETS BUNDLE (available for customers beginning July 1st). Nine Lives

I’m happy they included Nine Lives and Happy Tails in the new catalog!  Sometimes you just need those kind of cards using pet images to cheer someone up!  I used the colors of my cat, Bleach, who went over the Rainbow Bridge last year.

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Balmy Blue Gingham Gala Designer Paper.
  • A 2-3/8 Circle is cut with the Layering Circles Framelits from Whisper White, then layered on the next sized Scallop Circle of Smoky Slate cardstock.
  • The greeting from Nine Lives stamp set is stamped with Balmy Blue Ink.
  • A 3/4 x 4 strip of Balmy Blue cardstock is placed towards the bottom of the circle.
  • Some Whisper White Baker’s Twine is wrapped around the DSP and tied in a bow on the right side.
  • The cat outline is stamped with Memento Black Ink on Smoky Slate cardstock and the inside pattern with Smoky Slate Ink. It was then colored over with Smoky Slate Light Blend for a little more depth. It is punched with the Cat Builder Punch.
  • The bowl is stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White, colored with the Smoky Slate Blends, then hand cut and added to the front.

Super simple stamping, but the background Buffalo Plaid print really sets it off!
