Saturday Blog Hop – Traditional Christmas Colors

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop.  This week we are featuring traditional red and green Christmas colors on our cards!  Can’t believe it will be December tomorrow!

FILLED WITH CHEER

This the first time I’ve used the poinsettias/gifts image.  I love the snowman image in this set, but this one is pretty cute, too, so thought it needed some love!  Of course, Garden Green, Granny Apple Green and Poppy Parade are perfect Christmas colors!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • Two 1 x 5-1/4 strips of Take A Bow Designer Paper were added to the top and bottom of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock.
  • The poinsettia/gifts image from Filled with Cheer stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake and Shaded Spruce/Old Olive Stampin’ Blends (those two colors combined make a pretty close Garden Green color!)
  • The holly was cut from Granny Apple Green and Poppy Parade cardstocks using the Reindeer Fun Dies and sponged with Garden Green Ink.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Filled with Cheer was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Poppy Parade cardstock, then cut with the Stylish Shapes Die.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Earth Tones Shimmer Gems were added to the background.

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s inspiration challenge is a row of icicles!  I remember growing up in a farmhouse where my dad farmed, and the old house would get pretty rows of icicles every winter on the eaves!  I didn’t know that was a BAD thing!  We used to break them off and eat them!  lol!

FILLED WITH CHEER & FROZEN EDGES

I love the Frozen Edges Dies…they make a great accent to a card!  I combined it with my snowman from Filled with Cheer for a frosty scene!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Lost Lagoon cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Winter Meadow 12×12 Designer Paper was added on top.
  • The icicles were cut from Basic White cardstock and added to the top.
  • A 3 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic White was torn across the top and layered together to form the snowbanks at the bottom.
  • The snowman image from Filled with Cheer was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White and colored with Shaded Spruce, Real Red, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Light Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends.  It was hand-cut and added to the snowbank.
  • The greeting was stamped directly on the designer paper with Memento Black Ink.
  • Some White Loose Snowflakes were added to the background.

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge. It’s a different color combo challenge this week!  I’m not sure I would have put these colors together myself…but it works!

FILLED WITH CHEER

I think the little snowman in this set is darling and I hadn’t had a chance to use him yet!  So, I thought these colors would work well!  I just had to add a little orange for his nose!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pebbled Path cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Soft Sea Foam was embossed with the Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder (Online Exclusive).
  • A 2 x 4 strip of Pebbled Path stripe from the 2023-25 In Color 6×6 DSP was added along the right side.
  • A 1-1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Moody Mauve cardstock was overlapped on the front.
  • The rectangle was cut from Basic White cardstock with the Everyday Details Die and stamped with the Filled with Cheer greeting in Memento Black Ink in the upper left corner.
  • The snowman/tree/sled image from Filled with Cheer was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Pebbled Path, Soft Sea Foam, and Moody Mauve Stampin’ Blends.  And a little bit of Pumpkin Pie for his nose!
  • The image was hand-cut then added to the rectangle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of 2023-25 Opaque Sparkle Dots were added to the background.
