September 2013 Tour de Freaks

It's time for the Tour de Freaks…brought to you by the Control Freak Swappers! We have an awesome lineup of Halloween Projects for you this month! Pick your poison and take the tour…it will take you around the loop until you return here. You probably just came from Justin Kreiger's blog...weren't his projects fun?

I have a fun card for you first. I love the gingham circle from Kind & Cozy as the background for cut out Halloween Happiness. I also liked punching the circle from the Sweater Weather Designer Paper…gives it some extra depth! The Chevron Punch adds some interest, along with the Black Candy Dots!

My second card is what I made for the latest Control Freaks Fall Swap a couple months ago. I had so much fun with the skeleton from Toil & Trouble. I placed the strips of Witches Brew Designer Paper on the diagonal for a more dramatic look. The Oval Framelit is sponged with Pumpkin Pie ink. It is hard to see, but the Basic Black is embossed with the Honeycomb folder, then I repeated the look with the Six Sided Punches from Summer Starfruit cardstock. Halloween Hello is stamped and popped up on the front one with a little Rhinestone bling.

Last, I made up a fun little nugget box that holds six Hershey Nuggets as a little favor for Halloween. On the front is the fun greeting from Halloween Bash. And under the nuggets is the Eat if you Dare greeting…of course you can only see it AFTER you've eaten the candy! lol! I wrapped the nuggets with 1 x 3 strips of Witches Brew Designer Paper. I added Dazzling Details around the edges of the Deco Label Framelit on the front of the box for some extra sparkle.

Ok…aren't those fun? Now it's time to move onto the next Freak in the lineup, the awesome Mindy Backes! I love her designs and know you will, too!

Halloween Hello

It's Halloween week over on Create with Connie and Mary Fall Collection 2013, so I celebrated by making a Halloween card with the cute little Halloween Hello stamp set that Stampin' Up! has in the Holiday catalog! I love that it has several greetings in it already. And…I used up some of the "starts" on my desk! Always a good thing!

Here are the details!

The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Very Vanilla, folded in half.
I added a 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Basic Black with a 1 x 5 1/4 strip of Witches Brew Designer Paper across the bottom portion.
Then I added a 1/4 x 5 1/4 strip of Silver Glimmer Paper…so sparkly with NO mess! Love it!
I cut a full moon from Summer Starfruit cardstock with the Circle Framelits, stamped the Bats About You greeting with Black Stazon on it, then embossed it with the Chevron Embossing Folder. I sponged the edges with Pumpkin Pie ink.
I stamped two of the bats on scrap Very Vanilla and cut them out, then placed on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals. (Wish I still had some of the googly eyes from last year…perfect for this set!)
Finally I added a trio of Rhinestone jewels above the designer paper for a balance of the bling!

That's it…very clean and simple, but the Silver Glimmer and embossed moon gives it more of a step-it-up wow look, don't you think?

In celebration, I made a Halloween card, too! This one came together SUPER easy! I'm already thinking it would be cute as a tag on a gift bag, too! I love the "moon" behind the bats out of DSP!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Summer Starfruit cardstock folded in half.
I embossed the 4 x 5 1/4 Basic Black background with the Chevron Folder.
I cut a 2 x 5 strip of Witches Brew Designer Paper, then cut a flag end and curled them slightly.
I used the Circle Framelits (yeah!) to cut my Designer Paper "moon" and stamped "Bats about You" from Halloween Hello with Black Stazon Ink on top.
I stamped two of the bats from Halloween Hello with Black Stazon on Very Vanilla and cut them out (that took longer than putting the rest of the card together!). They are popped up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals!

That's it!!! It came together in a VERY short time and would be great for mass producing! And I love it!
