CS158 – Inspirational Sketches

Welcome to Create with Stamping Friends Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Debbie and I will pick a theme for our simple cards.  Our September theme is “Feathered Friends”.   So many great bird images in Stampin’ Up!’s lineup…this should be fun!

INSPIRATIONAL SKETCHES

For this card, I’ve combined an Annual Catalog set with a new Sept-Dec Mini set!  I love these Changing Leaves images!  This card came together really easily with minimal coloring!

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pecan Pie cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock was embossed with the Leaf Fall Embossing Folding (Online Exclusive) and added to the front.
  • The bird from Inspirational Sketches stamp set was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Wild Wheat and Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends.  It was hand-cut.
  • The first three-leaf image from Changing Leaves stamp set was inked with Pumpkin Pie Ink and stamped on Basic White cardstock.  The second three-leaf image was inked with Wild Wheat and Pumpkin Pie added with a sponge dauber, then stamped on Basic White cardstock.  They were cut with the Changing Leaves Dies.
  • The smaller leaf cluster was cut from Basic White cardstock, then sponged with Pumpkin Pie and Wild Wheat Inks and run thru the Changing Leaves Embossing Folder.
  • The skeleton leaves were cut from Pumpkin Pie cardstock.  All were assembled on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the large label in the Changing Leaves Dies.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Faux Glass Dots were added to the background.

Welcome to Create with Stamping Friends Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Debbie and I will pick a theme for our simple cards.  This month the theme is “Nature” cards.  Stampin’ Up! has so many great sets for this category!

INSPIRATIONAL SKETCHES

My second card this week using my new Inspirational Sketches stamp set…perfect for this Nature theme!  I wanted a more muted look so I used Gray Granite for the outline image and then colored it with a new In Color, Peach Pie!

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Peach Pie cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 2-3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Unbounded Beauty Designer Paper was cut on a couple angles and added to the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Copper Clay cardstock.
  • The daisy image was stamped with Gray Granite Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Peach Pie, Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blends, then cut with the Everyday Details circle Die.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Inspirational Sketches was stamped with Copper Clay Ink on 1/2 x 3 Peach Pie cardstock and the end cut at an angle.  It was added to the front.
  • A trio of gold Sparkle Gems were added to the background.

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s inspiration challenge is a pretty nature print with beautiful colors!

INSPIRATIONAL SKETCHES

I just got this Inspirational Sketches set with some extra host credits I had.  I love the sketchy images…don’t know why I didn’t get it before now.  But I’m glad it is staying available for a while longer!  This card I combined one of the new In Colors, Petunia Pop, with Pebbled Path for a more muted look!

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Petunia Pop cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pebbled Path cardstock was embossed with the Distressed Brick Embossing Folder.
  • The arch from the Garden Meadow Dies was cut from Petunia Pop cardstock and blended around the edges with Pebbled Path Ink and a Blending Brush.
  • The mushrooms were stamped with Blackberry Bliss Ink in the center.
  • The grass was cut with the Garden Meadow Dies from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and sponged along the bottom with Pebbled Path Ink, then added to the bottom of the arch.  It was added to the front.
  • The greeting from Inspirational Sketches was stamped with Pebbled Path on 3/4 x 3 piece of Basic White cardstock, cut one end at an angle, and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the background.
