It’s a new month and a new theme for our Creatively Simple challenge!

SUNRISE SAILING

Last week I did a watercolor background, for this week I switched to watercolor coloring on my card using the Layer of Beauty Bundle!  I started watercoloring with the flowers and my watercolor painter wasn’t working correctly so they turned out darker than I liked.  I added some contrast by using the Layers of Beauty Stencil for the center darker portion!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Petunia Pop cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the greeting across the top in Petunia Pop Ink, then added to the front of the base card.
  • A 4 x 4 piece of Cute As Can Bee (Online Exclusive) Designer Paper was cut on the diagonal across the top and then added to the bottom of the Basic White cardstock.
  • The Layers of Beauty roses were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and watercolored with Petunia Pop, Pretty in Pink, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight Inks using a water brush.
  • The Layers of Beauty Stencil was used to add darker Highland Heather Ink to the centers.
  • It was cut with the Die and a portion of it trimmed away to fit better on my card.  It was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Old Olive cardstock was cut with two of the stand-alone leaf dies and added under the flower cluster.
  • A trio of pink Strawberry Slush and Pretty in Pink Gems were added to the background.

The watercoloring actually went pretty fast so I think this still qualifies as a “simple” card!  OK, check out Debbie’s new Creatively Simple card over on Create with Stamping Friends!

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s inspiration challenge is a yummy cupcake!  Wouldn’t you like to see that on your plate for your birthday?

 

LAYERS OF BEAUTY

I’m actually shocked on how much I pull out my Layers of Beauty Stamp Set!  This time I only used a portion of the large image for the rose on the top of my cupcake and I colored it with Stampin’ Blends!  I was even more surprised that I have NO current cupcake images in all the stamp sets I own!  I need to look into that!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Soft Sea Foam cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Unbounded Beauty Designer Paper was added on top.
  • The circle from Spotlight on Nature Dies was cut from Smoky Slate cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • I used the rosette maker Round We Go Die for the cupcake liner; a portion was cut from Unbounded Beauty DSP and the sides were angled.  It was added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The cupcake was hand-cut from Very Vanilla cardstock and added behind the top of the cupcake liner.
  • The smallest rose from Layers of Beauty was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Petunia Pop and Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends.  It was hand-cut and added to the top of the cupcake with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Three of the leaf clusters were cut with the Layers of Beauty Die from Soft Sea Foam cardstock and added around the sides of the cupcake liner and behind the flower.
  • Hello from Unbounded Love Stamp Set was stamped on Soft Sea Foam cardstock with Memento Black Ink and cut with the Layers of Beauty tag die.
  • Two pink Shiny Sequins were added to the liner to finish it off.

CSF Saturday Blog Hop – “Hunt for Red October”

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop. This month we will be using the colors in movie titles to inspire our cards.  This week our movie theme is “Hunt for Red October”.  Cards with predominantly red in them!

LAYERS OF BEAUTY

The masks with the Layers of Beauty stamps make it SO easy to color!  I didn’t even use the dies from the bundle.  I also only used two colors…Poppy Parade and Basic Beige to get the depth of color on the roses and the leaves!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Basic Beige cardstock was added on top.
  • The 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the roses in Memento Black Ink in the lower right corner.
  • The masks were used with Poppy Parade Ink for the roses and Basic Beige Inks for leaves.
  • The white was added to the Basic Beige layer.
  • The Basic Beige tag was cut with the Greetings of the Season die and stamped with the Simply Said greeting in Memento Black Ink.
  • Some Black & Very Vanilla Large Check Ribbon was tied thru the hole in the tag, then the tag added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of black Sparkle Gems were added to the background.

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Forever Love”.  Lots of people seem to get married in June (my son and brother included!)  Let’s show off our wedding and anniversary cards! 

LAYERS OF BEAUTY

Although this stamp image looks time consuming to color…it really isn’t!  The masks make it SO simple by adding color a section at a time!  This greeting would be wonderful for my husband’s anniversary card (and he doesn’t mind flowers!)

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Flirty Flamingo cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Lemon Lolly cardstock is embossed with the So Swirly Embossing Folder and added to the base card.
  • The Layers of Beauty flower was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 layer of Basic White cardstock.  The masks were used to add Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Petunia Pop, Lemon Lime Twist and Old Olive Inks with Blending Brushes.  It was cut with the Layers of Beauty Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Flirty Flamingo Baker’s Twine Three Pack was looped several times and then added to the flower.
  • The greeting from Layers of Beauty stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 1/2 x 4 strip of Basic White and the ends cut at an angle.
  • A trio of pink Tinsel Gems Four Pack were added to the background.

CSF Saturday Blog Hop – Neutrals Palette

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Neutrals Color Palette”.  Our Design Team will use only whites, grays, ivory, browns or black on their cards this week!

LAYERS OF BEAUTY

I haven’t made a “vintage” looking card for a LONG time!  I thought the Layers of Beauty stamp set would be perfect for this week’s theme.

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 new Basic Beige cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pecan Pie cardstock was embossed with the new Eyelet Embossing Folder and the edges roughed up and curled.  It was adhered on the front.
  • The large flower cluster from Layers of Beauty was stamped with Pecan Pie Ink on Basic Beige cardstock and cut with the Layers of Beauty Die.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and some of the edges curled up.
  • The extra leaves were cut with the dies from Basic White cardstock and adhered behind the main image.
  • The tag from the Layers of Beauty Dies was cut from both Pecan Pie and Basic White cardstock.  The Basic White was stamped with the “hello” image from Unbounded Love stamp set in Pecan Pie Ink.  They were adhered together with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.
  • The tags were tied with Linen Thread tied in a bow on the front with big loops and long tails.

 

I’m really happy with how this turned out!  I “may” be using this idea for my Stampin’ Up! It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge. We are picking our own favorite color combination this week AND adding a little sparkle!  Right now my favorite color is yellow, so I combined it with the awesome new Petunia Pop pink color and Lemon Lime Twist green!  LOVE how it turned out!

LAYERS OF BEAUTY

I just got this new Layers of Beauty bundle and couldn’t wait to ink it up!  On this card, I used Stampin’ Blends to color my flowers, but on a second card I’ll show later, I did use the stencils that are bundled with this set!  Stencils are quite the rage again.  I can remember stenciling my walls when I was first married!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Petunia Pop cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was added on top.
  • The large rose flowers were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist and Petunia Pop Stampin’ Blends, then cut with the Layers of Beauty Dies.
  • A 1/4 x 3 strip of Petunia Pop In Color Glimmer Paper was added behind the greeting stamped with Memento Black Ink on Petunia Pop cardstock.  It was cut with the Everyday Details Die, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of In Color Resin Dots were added to the background.
