Wow…another week has FLOWN by! We have another Saturday Challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary! It's a color challenge this week with the colors from Candy Cane Christmas Designer Paper…Blushing Bride, Real Red, Garden Green and Baja Breeze. You don't need to use the designer paper…in fact, you can see that I didn't! Just use those colors! We've been focusing this week on A Cute Christmas, Merry Crittermas, Builder Wheels, Decor Elements and Candy Cane Rub-ons. Our subscribers have the opportunity to play along and be put in a drawing for one of TWO $75 gift certificates and free subscriptions to the next edition! For my card, I focused on the traditional Christmas colors in that color combo. The base is Real Red. I layered on Garden Green that I ran thru the Big Shot with the Petals A Plenty Impressions Folder. I stamped the fun raccoons and tree from Stampin' Up!'s Merry Crittermas in Black Stazon Ink and watercolored with my Stampin' Write Markers. Truly…there are Baja Breeze and Blushing Bride in the coloring! I layered the Whisper White onto Basic Black for some contrast and rounded the corners of both layers. I stamped Merry Christmas from Christmas Greetings in Basic Black at the top. I added some Dazzling Diamonds along the bottom where they are standing for snow and on the ornaments so they sparkle!
I love doing this ribbon treatment! I secured one end behind the Garden Green layer, then laid down Sticky Strip across the front. I gathered the Real Red Satin Ribbon along the Sticky Strip…then added a big Blushing Bride Designer Button at the end, tied with Linen Thread.
